Re: Stable Plans, Shadowland edition
I'm taking full advantage of the new massive stable size to go on a colossal taming spree, breaking my previous rule of only having one of each pet family. 9 birds of prey is now a perfectly sensible number, in my opinion. And while I know we're not doing grids, I may have slightly mapped them out i...

Re: Ideas: Pet Family Rework for Shadowlands
That's fair, I think the loss in flavour for some families is definitely a downside to mergers. Personally I think the biggest loss in the way I had them merged previously would be Frost Breath for Chimaeras; I can't see all of Feathermanes getting a breath weapon out of nowhere. What surprised me t...

Hello! I realise I won't be a familiar face around here, but I'm a long-time lurker that has been closely following the reaction to this thread. I normally tend to avoid posting because I don't feel strongly enough about something to overcome the anxiety involved with putting my opinions out into th...

Re: Where the Wild Things Are in Patch 5.2
For anyone who likes pet naming trivia: Degus and Hutias are both relatively obscure real-world rodents. Quick search suggests that Gumi doesn't fit this pattern, though. Perhaps a tribute to a departed pet of a Blizzard staff member? Or it could... just be a name. >_> Your guess is as good as mine....

Re: Screenshots of new families
Ah, I've found some shenanigans with the Hyjal Red Basilisk: They are two different mobs in different phases of the zone. The tameable one, from my premade with no quests complete, is id 39658 . The ones you're having trouble with is in a different phase, id 48724 . On my Hunter that has completed H...

Just got ninja'd, heh.
The Tanaris yellow is the Glasshide Basilisk. The whites in the same zone, the Glasshide Gazers, are untamable.

Re: Screenshots of new families
Edit: Before you rush off to get one of these, the tamable ones are only available in an early Hyjal phase. (The one on the premades.) Stonegazer, red basilisk in Terrokar, not tameable.
