Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

Best part of the pig debate is that the original pig animations were at least nearly accurate to actual motions used by the real deals.I sure can't wait for all the old models to get faithful updates, so the newer boars can get their animations fixed.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

Seeing as how my beta invite has mysteriously not been sent out ( :( ), I can't play with Eyes. Is it the same as it was way back when, where it's just your pet's actionbar on your own hotbar? Or has it been changed in any way?

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

Seconding how the MoP model feels off. It's too round and "soft" looking. Devilsaurs are literally T.Rex with pronounced spines; they shouldn't look like bipedal lizard puppies. Save that for the adorable baby raptor battle pets. Devilsaurs should look like apex predators, ready to predate on your b...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

Maldraxxus could use some tallstriders. Crazy undead birds would be a nice aesthetic for tames. HINT HINT LURKER :). As for crocs and dragonhawks, I feel like they're neglected. Ardenweald is a perfect place to add some sweet green and blue dragonhawks, and bastion's aesthtic would allow for some aw...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

Glad to see the birds are ingame. Not too fond of the glow on their bodies that's been overused since Lord Ryolith appeared in Firelands and the unicorns since Legion, but I'm totally grabbing that gold one. I think those will be my go-to pet for Shadowlands, much like Crawgs were for BfA.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

https://twitter.com/Muffinus/status/1288327013204295682 Giraffes belong with the: Goat family Stag family Oxen family Other pets in my stables All answers are correct as they share a common family in real life (Pecora), but Muffinus is giving the Guarm poll treatment to giraffes. All but confirmed a...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

Muffinus is talking about Bugsnax on twitter. Now's the time to calmly and discreetly suggest Kunchong, as well as any other tasty bug tames!

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

That's it; I need cloud serpents in the stag family now because of the comparison to windsteeds.

Hunter A: Check out my stag! It's a rare unicorn!
Hunter B: Check out MY stag! It breathes ionized lightning and has jet-black scales!
Hunter A: But that's not a-
Hunter B: GET IONIZED!

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

Blue one is a tad muted in that light, but that's a good thing. It's not overbearing, it's not too bland, but it's just right. I wanted the purple one, but seeing blue with proper ingame lighting, I want that one more now.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

Someone on twitter suggested that the critter-like beasts, like rats and otters, be tameable through pet battles. Instead of throwing a cage at a weakened critter, you'd have a Tame Beast button to tame it. That'd be a good way to finally incentivize actually doing pet battles while also giving us m...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

I don't even remember what goat animations look like since I never use them (nor really care for them), but the new animation definitely makes them look better. Actually looks like a goat walking.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

Threw my lot in on there. Guy also pointed out something that made me think; Nighthold's scorpids. The excuse of multiple parts isn't valid anymore since we've got pets with multiple parts right now such as Osca and that one hippo. If anything, I'd like to see that now. Would be neat, even if scorpi...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

I'll give you the owlcat since that's 100% a druid form, but the others are too much of a stretch. Ankylodons are lacking the tusks and cool jewelry, sabertusks are lacking the markings and jewelry, the pterrodax uses a skin that's too different from the current new pterrordax look, and the stags ar...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

Digging the stitched dogs more and more every time I see them. I just can't decide which color I like more. Olive is in the lead right now for me, but I gotta see them ingame. Also, a trivial suggestion; rather than calling them owl steeds, why not call them flightless hippogryphs? Because other tha...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

Man, I hate when my ear stabs my neck too. Hope they fix that. Part of me thinks the frog won't be tameable though, considering we STILL have no new frogs aside from the plague toad. Would be nice to have a tree frog, but I'm not holding my breath on that one. EDIT: AH! I KNOW WHY I LIKE THE BIRDSTE...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

I want the bird steed. That had better be a pet and/or mount that's easily obtained, because I really want it.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

If the pets' head tracking is a hassle, why not use the Move To command and step away from the pet while using Eagle Eye? This combination is spectacular for getting screenshots of models.
