Re: Compiling a database of pets that retain their names after taming

Nakk the Thunderer: Keeps the name. Iridescent Glimmershell: Does not keep its name. I tamed Nakk a while back to check this. Got it as one of the pets I almost always use, since clefthooves are so absurdly unbalanced as pets. I tried the Glimmershell after HOURS of killing crabs, but it reverted to...

Re: [IDEAS] Pet Family Rework for Shadowlands

I had a whole list of things I was gonna throw out there, but I'll just drop the most important one; Combine Basilisk, Crocolisk, and Lizard families. Here's my reasoning for it; - "Lizard" encompasses diematradons (NOT a lizard), snapdragons (Fish? Wolves? Fishwolf?), sabertusk (Fictional lizard), ...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

I mean, spiders deserve love, and I'm glad the best spider model was used, but I'm not too keen on it being ghostly. We need more solid creature to fill that family of dead things. I'm guessing that's gonna be Shadra though, since the Horde failed to stop the poor creepy crawly from being siphoned b...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

Are the ghost mobs just slightly transparent versions of their normal counterparts? Or do they have any special effects to them?

Re: Significant Stable Slot upgrade incoming

Imma say this without the intent to cause a stir, but I'd love an unlimited stable size that's like that. The pets won't lose their uniqueness, because you're storing an NPC rather than a template, and battle pets work just like that for the most part (I think?). I'd be totally fine with just ten ex...

Saw those were tameable on wowhead's database, but I assumed they were just duplicate unused NPCs. Glad to see they're tameable.

Skins With Minor Differences

Restructured the post, going to just add any minor variations that are found. Classic Stormcrows Classic Black Stormraven Classic Black Stormcrow Originally, we thought there was only one black stormcrow skin. In truth, we discovered there were small variations! Those using the "stormcrowskin" model...

Re: Old boar model vs the new boar model

I prefer the old animations because they're more pig-like. Only thing I like about the new boars is that they don't look like they came from a PSX game made a decade late. Like the old Pterrordax model, these boars need to be given a visual upgrade without replacing them with the new models. Give th...

Re: Anyone know what happened to this model?

It just kind of stopped existing at some point. It was the only cool rylak model, but they never actually used it. I think Wain (or maybe someone else?) said the files for the model were removed from the game too.

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

I'd rather have one as a battle pet, since it's pretty thin and tiny in design. Maybe it's as big as any other beetle, but I think that'd be best as a critter. Still a cool creature though. That dark blue one is really nice.

Re: 'Gatherable' Pet?

I just made a trial hunter to check this. Will report back once I finish the intro quests for WoD. EDIT: Confirmed, Lunarfall Matriarch has a gear symbol when you hover over her, and you "harvest" nothing when you click. The gear isn't visible when I hover over it in the screenshots I take, and the ...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

It's a bit of a stretch to compare them, since Bronx is FAR superior, but he's basically a mix of the snapdragon and gargon. It would be amazing to have a model like him show up.

Also, I need to rewatch Gargoyles. Such a great show.

Man, the pre-beta times are some of the most hype. Those bats look surprisingly good, and I'm glad the purple one is tameable. Here's hoping the other colors become tameable soon!

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

The stag family should get a rename to encompass all the hoofed animals it has now. Stone Hound felt weird at first, but fits since the new bears (gargons are totally bears, you can't convince me otherwise) are in them. There's all sorts of horse-like creatures in there, and they are not stags at al...

Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

Torghast is out for testing, and from what I've seen, Mawrat (blue variants, didn't see the others), Mawsworn Seeker (black armored skeletal dogs), and Deadsoul Scavenger (those black beasts with smoky backs) are all beasts. Streamers are only using Demon Hunters and healers, so nobody has tried tam...
