I'm actually experiencing the same issue. All of my pets are named after characters in Connie Willis' Doomsday Book. There aren't 25 names in there...or even close to that many. Still trying to redo the naming schema. I may just use characters from her other books, or try the alphabetic thing. Maybe...

Simple answer: when said pet becomes inaccessible in-game. And given the changes coming in Cataclysm, I suspect that we will be seeing a few of our favorite skins either needing a move or maybe even just phased out completely. So...might be best to be warned and grab these guys before they go. Here'...
