New critters/wild mini pets. (updated 3/29)
Just tossing this up here since everyone is seeking new pets and such, more of a place for me to keep track of what I find of named mini pets~
Eastern Kingdom
Polly: N. Stranglethorn (light green/yellow parrot) Seems pretty common, found a bunch!
Snow Cub: Dun Morogh also seems common.
Tiny Bog Beast: Wetlands (green belt area)
Black Sheep: Elwynn Forrest
Dusk Spiderling: Duskwood
Tiny Harvester: Westfall (thanks to Quintessence) they are found in a few places
Molten Hatchling: Searing Gorge
King Snake: Badlands Wowhead and wowwiki both do not list these. So assuming new.
Little Black Ram: Lock Modan I was just laughing about wanting one of those mount sized rams, but they put in a tiny one
Jade Oozeling: Hinterlands
Festering Maggot: Eastern Plaguelands
Kalimdor
Spawn of Onyxia: Dustwallow Marsh
Cheetah Cub: Northern Barrens
Giraffe Calf: Southern Barrens
Creepy Crawly: Durotar (a beetle)
Venomspitter Hatchling: Stonetalon Mountains
Gazelle fawn: Mulgore
Stone Armadillo: Desolace
Full list here!

Re: Wild mini pets.
oooh, cool, I hope this thread gets plenty of updates. I'm still waiting on my beta invite, dying to go hunting when I manage to get in. That and testing out all the changes, I'm really hoping BM is gonna be viable enough for me to raid with it again. I miss raiding with the pets I actually like.

Re: Wild mini pets.
So how do you get the wild mini pets?
-run up and grab them out of the air like loot?
-tame them like a hunter tames a pet?
-fight them with your companion pets and then catch them (a=la pokemon?)?
-use some kind of item?
-use some kind of skill?
Or are they not something you can get in the wild at all?

Re: Wild mini pets.
Don't worry, I will update as soon as I find more.
Honestly I don't know how it is going to be, but I think you will have to battle for them since when you run up to them and try to "loot" them it tells you that you don't have permission to perform that function.

Re: Wild mini pets.
Alrighty, can you battle your own pets with other players in beta, or has that not been implemented yet?

Re: Wild mini pets.
How do you know they are mini pets? Do they have a special mark or anything? Can you maybe take a screenshot?
Sorry for so many questions, but I have a bit of a mini pet obsession

Re: Wild mini pets.
I'm not 100% positive they will be mini pets, but have a pretty good hunch. A lot of areas have one new critter and would seem to fit the criteria of what blizzard mentioned at blizzcon. If you see the mini map on the screen shots, that is the new tracking system found on your tracking tab. All are iconed as rabbits regardless of what they really are.
Edit: I am also looking for the aqua colored tiger, but no luck yet! (I want this VERY badly!)

Re: New critters/wild mini pets.
That tracking is pretty neat! Do all critters show up with that tracking or just the ones that you have found to be new to the zone?

Eeee, can't wait for the bitty bog beast!
Would love to see a screenie of the tracking tab, where you choose what to track.

Re: New critters/wild mini pets.
Oh my, I hope they make all the little critters eventually tameable/captuarble. There are some mini-warpstalkers in Durotar if I remember right, I would adore one of those as a mini-pet.

Re: New critters/wild mini pets.
Since pets will be account wide do we know if the duplicates will go to our mail box or bag? It would suck to lose the ones we worked hard for twice and not be able to sell or trade the extra.

Re: New critters/wild mini pets.
Love this! Had to scan each zone for myself after finding out about this. Here's all the new critters with unique models I've found so far (excluding the more common ones like mice, squirrels, crabs, etc.):
Tiny Harvesters at Furlbrow's Pumpkin Farm in Westfall
Spiky Lizard in Badlands (think mini-warp stalkers)
Edit: Doobjanka's making a giant list of all the critters tagged as Wild Battle Pets on the WarcraftPets forums: http://www.warcraftpets.com/community/f ... ?f=3&t=176
