I have such a long history with this mount. When i started playing WoW i was 14 and couldn't decide between being a night elf or a blood elf. I liked the Nelves more but Belfs could ride raptors and i wanted to have a dinosaur mount soso much! But a little research told me about this mount here and so, assured that i'd be able to get a raptor, i made my first ever character. She is still my main to this day.
What i didnt realize at the time was this sucker came from a raid. and since i was stuck at lvl 70 during LK and most of cata, i needed help farming it. So under the agreement that i would get the raptor and he would get the cat, me and a friend started farming together. The Raptor dropped first, and although we had agreed it would be mine, he admitted he really wanted the raptor too. and since he was doing most of the work during the boss fight, i let him have it- agreeing that i'd get the second one that dropped.
....literally a week later Blizz announced they were removing the raid. I never saw it drop again. (also the friend turned out to be a jerk and we eventually stopped hanging out. though every time he saw me he would mount up on the raptor to taunt me with it. i have been kicking myself over giving it away for years)
So i have basically been trying to save up for this guy (along with a few other mounts) since the BMAH came out. started to take the farm more seriously in Legion and have been checking all my realms every day for this guy. And then he showed up today on one of my dead realms! and even better, blizz had just added cross realm gold trading the day before!
...unfortunately they suspended the trading feature literally as i was trying to use it. and the auction was ending way sooner than i expected so i had to put in an emergency character transfer. with 4 minuets left on the auction, my transfer went through and i used up almost everything i had to bid on it. one more bid and i would have gone broke. but finally after 15 years of waiting, 25 bucks and 5.5 mil gold spent, she is mine!
had to take a pic in front of her old stomping grounds for old times sake.
