I also agree that having a second, more common pet family that also has the ability to heal. Even though I still don't see a reason to be so protective over the Spirit Beast family staying rare, anything to have a common option of a healing pet. ^^
Some may call me an elitist, some a purist, a lot have called me worse; but here is my stance on Spirit Beasts.
The name alone, it sounds exotic. It sounds mythical and legendary. Especially in Wrath of the Lich King when some of these were only available at level cap. I remember seeing someone with Skoll for the first time and my eyes going wide: "Holy Jesus on a pickle sammich I want that!" I looked up what it was, discovered this site and from there, Spirit Beasts became synonymous with the word "rare" for me. It is purely a personal standpoint, and one that I will stand by for that one pet has had an impact on my main hunter and the things I have gone through before and after taming him. It's not about being special, or the shiny really...it's the goal sought and accomplished. It's the mythical Spirit Beast. If a common one pops up, then it becomes less mythical (to me).
However, as stated before and probably at least twice more...the ability is something I wouldn't mind seeing on another pet class (for a number of reasons). It would give us hunters a new pet, and I hope would at least make the two clear sides in this debate happy for the most part.
