Re: General BlizzCon discussion
If you redo Suramar quests again, you would notice they while Tyrande blamed the Nightbornes for everything, and was very condescending and unsympathetic towards them, the matriarch of the Blood Knights was very sympathetic to their plight; she obviously really wanted to help the Nightborns.Valnaaros wrote:I personally don't think it fits for the Nightborne to entirely ally with the Horde. Yes, they got along better with the BEs, but the Alliance still came to their aid.
But, anyways, I am excited, if cautiously so.
Both Nightborne and The Blood Elves share the same fate; losing a font of power, and trying to live without depending on it, and having leaders that struck a bargain with the Legion, supposedly to save their own people.

Silgryn: In my entire lifetime, I never left the borders of Suramar. To see this place is to understand the fate that almost befell my people.
Lady Liadrin: And nearly mine as well. The sin'dorei also had a leader who struck a bargain with the Legion, poisoning us in the process.
Silgryn: An unbridled thirst for power is the most terrible corruption of all. How did your people find their path forward?
Lady Liadrin: We banded together to fight for our place on Azeroth. And we realized we needed allies to stand with us.
Silgryn: And has the Horde served that purpose for you?
Lady Liadrin: It has. Make no mistake, ours has not been an easy road, and we have struggled through dark times. But together we face a world that has often turned its back on us. Together, we find strength.
Silgryn: A valuable perspective, Lady Liadrin. You have given me much to ponder.

Re: General BlizzCon discussion
@Pop Tyrande does not equal the entire Alliance, let alone the rest of the Kaldorei. I know she wasn't at all kind towards them, but that doesn't mean that the rest of the Kaldorei weren't. And that doesn't change the fact that the Alliance did help the Nightfallen with getting their rebellion going in the first place.
But I agree that the Sin'dorei and Nightborne have a lot in common, as I have said. And I have said it doesn't change what the Alliance has done for them.
@Vephriel I've seen that dialogue, as well. Unlike what many have interpreted, that wasn't Liadrin's invitation to join the Horde, or Silgryn stating he would think about joining. He was going to ponder the possible benefits of allying with others; not specifically the BEs and Horde.

That's clever, though. Well spotted
The designers could well have already decided what would happen in the next expac when they wrote that.

So, Aspect of the Pack is going to be back, along with raid-wide buffs for other classes.

Re: General BlizzCon discussion
Personally, I'm really happy with what we've seen. I love the new playable allies and the areas and I'm super, super excited for playable Nightborne. Ever since I thought there was a chance they'd be playable, I've had a name saved on my server especially for a Nightborne Hunter, so you can bet I'll be going for unlocking them first. Them going Horde-side is always a nice plus
One thing to note is that they're allies and there's a questline to unlock them. To me, it sounds like not all of the Nightborne or all of the Highmountain will immediately side with the Horde, and instead sounds like members of that race will choose to ally with the Horde or the Alliance - and we will play one of those members who made the conscious decision to ally with a specific faction.
Also, I'm going to agree with Veph and Pop; the Nightborne allying with the Horde, in my opinion, makes more sense than allying with the Alliance, everything considered. I know that, when I heard Silgryn and Liadrin talk, it sounded like he was leaning towards allying with the Horde. In Suramar, the Night Elves and Blood Elves stood as representatives for what their faction is like, and Tyrande acting the way she did wasn't exactly inviting. Generally, people will go to people they know will help. Silgryn recognises that, should he ally with the Horde, he has the support of the Blood Elves. He doesn't have that same support in the Night Elves.
The questline to unlock each of the allied races has yet to be revealed, as well, which would help provide insight into why each race allies with the faction that they do.

Aspect of the Pack has no daze.
Pets get those raid buffs.
Raid buffs will all be changed to auras, I don't miss absent minded raid members forgetting to buff even after being asked multiple times.

Re: General BlizzCon discussion
Okay I'm just gonna be that person this time, but am I really the only one left with a bitter taste in my mouth after what's been revealed so far?!
Graphics are great, models all look amazing and the islands sounds slightly fun as well. That said.... I was hoping for a united war against old gods/voidlords (yes we got kultiras/zandalar and other things I assumed would be tied to the voidlords/old gods) or maybe a nice "vacation" and exploration x-pac.
I'm dishearthened by the fact that Nightborn couldn't have been neutral like pandas - I get the addiction thing but I still think the race would have been more divided when it came to choosing sides. Yes I main ally and wanted to race swap my toon to a nightborn because that was THE model I actually desired for my nelf the entire time I played wow. Sounds stupid to say I had another picture in my mind than the current nelf models but I actually did. Before people tell me to just wait and lvl up a voidelf instead I will say voidelves seem far out there and if anything again I think they should have been available to both factions if available at all. (I do like the concept and models showed so far but see them unfit and more like a third seperate faction)
On another note: Blizzard make unlocking the new races available for money/token, other MMO's have done so for players who cba or don't have time to play a race to max lvl just to unlock it on opposite faction, class etc. Don't bash me for this because if people want to they can play and get them for free as well along their armor or whatever as reward, I just like to have the other option due to my restricted gaming time. And the reward shouldn't be tied to a bought swap as it should be earned by people having the time and will to level up a new race to max!=)
I'm sad that I also won't basically get to experience the awesome continent of zandalar and its ruins/hostile cities while levelling up as ally. I'm sad that I get stuck in a "dull" countryside island with a few scary places and some pirates when Horde gets jungles and deserts. I know you will all say roll a zandalar troll/horde toon or main that instead. Unfortunately RL will not permit me to do that as I already have restricted playing schedule due to uni and by the time this x-pac launches... I'll be finishing a degree making me having even less time than now for alts. I know RL is none of your concern just stating the fact in my case as a reason why I'm sad the x-pac is like that atm. That said my guild and friends are all ally and I don't intend to leave a group of awesome people who all accepts everyone has a RL and everyone is welcome to join raids regardless how often you have time and how good you are, as long as their item lvl is the needed minimum. Heck we even boost people returning from hiatus and aid each other in various content. People like that you don't leave. =)
All this said, people probably guessed by now I'm a PVE player so all this going to war against the Horde is such a drag really and while I get the idea of keeping the war going on and on and on for PVP purposes, I think that by now it's just like kindergarten fights. (That said I bet and hope it's allliance who for once will be the villains and not Horde, if it's the other way it's way too cliche and even more dull) Even with content seeming PVE like it all is still haunted by the PVP ghost as you can't deny that a direct war between factions = PVP and PVP is obviously something which naturally should be weighed heavily upon in such an x-pac. That said I loathe PVP and I only ever did it because I wanted mounts or someone dragged me into lending a hand depsite the fact I'm the worst PVP'er ever! So to me 2 years of PVP stuff roughly to speak is not cheering me up at all. =/
Sorry for being so negative but the leaks, rumors and so on really had my hopes set for something else and not as restraining and boxed at this furture x-pac seems to me atm. =(
Enough of my ranting and venting as I'll end with something more positive though in my case it also slightly depends on a revamped hunter pet stable system or at least a few more stable slots as I don't intend to rid myself of more pets as those I have now all mean something to me even if some people claim you can't feel anything for 55 digital pets you can retame! To me it's like replacing a dead pet with clone/identical looking specimen. While similar it won't be the same!
But yeah.... those compys or troodons... My fav dinosaurs, just not in ARK!, are Troodons! =D
The mount possibilities in the next x-pac looks amazing, given we get some of the mob mounts as mount ourselves ofc!=) I just hope ally get a shot at some dino and frog mounts as well at some point as horses aren't my thing! ^^; That said hope the horse models pictured are new replacement models for the older ones like they did with the Kodos. (Tbh all the old starter mounts could need an update but yeah... in time maybe!)
The fact the some more older models get new models is awesome and very fitting by now, tbh I really, really hope there's more in store for us on that front than what the videos showed. Let's be fair, pretty much all old pre-cata models need a facelift of those who hasn't gotten them yet. The world as such probably won't be getting too many facelifts but I hope the creature and humanoid models will at least!=)
So yeah given I'll get 5-10 more stableslots in the future and the beasts become tamable: I'll be taming the iguana/bearded dragon and troodon/compy for sure!=D
Though Blizz, a purple and black panthara like the mount color would be really nice! =)
Again sorry for the ranting but I had to get it off my chest and now I'll go and pray to all deities in the world for extra stableslots, cool mounts for both factions (I can farm in the future once my degree is done!) and tamable troodons/compys and most importantly iguana/bearded dragons! =D

Re: General BlizzCon discussion
For those of you who were having problems finding the VoDs earlier, they're up now—they took way longer about it than they should have, but both the What's Next and Deep Dive can be watched if you missed it in real time. Many panels are also available via youtube, though obviously not through official channels. Caveat emptor, etc.
For the moment, I'm attempting to pretend that the grand hype on the faction conflict is as conflated here as it was at the BlizzCon when WoD was announced and they were hyping up Ashran—something that you can do if you really want, but has absolutely zero impact if you choose not to engage. It doesn't sound like it's exactly a 1:1 thing, but... y'know... take hope where you can find it.
I'm also conflicted about the changes to realms—I've spent a lot of money moving my alts (and a lot of time re-creating and re-leveling alts that couldn't make the money cut) off PvP servers after my guild died in April. I've got one alt left that I can't leave behind or delete (she's got 100% of pre-Legion enchanting recipes, and that took me a LONG time to do), and was prepping to move her to Proudmoore... and they announced that PvP servers are getting axed and that it'll be an individual toggle. That's great for people who are in my boat but who aren't me, but MAN I'm tired of being right on the edge of this stuff—I thought that with my retirement from raiding (and raid leading) that would finally be over, but apparently not.
It's definitely a good change, and I'm glad that some form of my requests to both the twitter account and the void that is the official forums for the removal of the expansion experience cliffs made it through; you KNOW nobody's gonna be leveling through Pandaria if they can help it though, especially if they keep Pandaria flying locked to 90 and 3k gold (85 and an indeterminate amount of gold through the BMAH-only book). But oh, man... the thought of finally being able to skip the first three zones in Northrend.......

It occurs to me that those vulpen / fox people should have dog mounts. Namely bearded collies
And if there isn't one named Sir Didymus - with a pet dog named Ambrosius - I'm going to be disappointed.

Re: General BlizzCon discussion
I am not saying that it doesn't make sense for the Nightborne to join the Sin'dorei. They have a lot in common, including both their personal struggles with addiction, and their race's histories. But the Nightborne joining the Horde in this way just makes them look ungrateful. I would've expected them to join the Horde in a more peaceful time, since the Horde/Sin'dorei are the best allies for them. But now they are accomplices of destroying Teldrassil and other Kaldorei lands after the Kaldorei came and helped them in their darkest hour. Yes, Tyrande was very rude towards them, but that doesn't warrant the Nightborne taking part in burning their lands and killing them.
This can also be applied to the Highmountain Tauren, or even the Lightforged Draenei. I am just hoping there will be a story/lore added that will have all of this fit more.

They did burn Teldrassil, which is their lands, and there was also art of Darkshore being a battlefront (with a wounded Varessa). The part we don't know is if the Horde attacked Teldrassil first, and then the Alliance attacked UC, or if it was the other way around. However, according to a leak, Sylvanas used a fragment of Sargeras' sword to burn Teldrassil.

I saw nothing stating the Horde burned it. Just a set up picture Frankly I do not buy them doing so
Awe found it as a bulletin point on MMO still smells like a set up to me

It was flatout said around the beginning of the What's Next panel. Alex Afrasiabi said that the Horde burns down Teldrassil.
