If Blizzard is smart, they probably have the texture without the pieces of harnesses on it in the database. It might be worth consulting Jeremy and/or one of his lackey--- minion-- underlin-- aides!

I figured they probably would, too. I've asked about similar cases in the past (cool skin, but bits of harness pasted on) but never had any luck getting a response. I'm sure they're all busy, but I also wonder if the art team needs to be approached while bearing gifts, perhaps also while crawling backwards and bowing every fourth step

If you had an unharnessed skin with a different color scheme, you might be able to reconstruct it using indexed colors.

Sand-Husk Scarabs come in two flavors: copper and gold. They don't seem to be color changers. The listing for copper doesn't include them right now, and I don't recall if anyone has mentioned it

Thanks! Apparently a subset of skins didn't get reconfigured for their updates :/ The problem only occurred in cases where the NPCs had multiple skins (only the first look was updated and the others kept their old values). As a result, the Sand Husk Scarab had secondary looks that are now retired appearances. I'm working on a fix for it now.

The beetles are a little addictive. I unashamedly have the gold one on multiple hunters now. It's just so pretty!

On the new look "Diamond" crab, there's a note that says "Untameable look : this look is not known from a tameable creature." I have that pet - it's the new skin for "Karkin" from the Molten Front. Hope this helps!

Yeah that's a temporary glitch, but I should put a note on it to explain that.
