Random Pet Challenge [v4.0]

So the black beetle

Seri decided to go for the "Scarab" in Zul'Farrak, once he figured out what was going on Snort was less than pleased but obediently left his mistress side.




The scarab actually grows after taming, Seri decided to name her new friend Glyph.



Took Glyph along on various quests.





Impression.
Like with most older pets the model needs work with stretched textures and hard edges in places. but other than that it's a really pretty pet.
Colors are vibrant and the animations work well, the walk is a kind of typical twitchy insect walk, attacks seem to be a mix between stabbing and scratching with the front limbs and a kind of "stinging" attack that has it's 'butt' curling in underneath it sort of like a wasp sting.
Good health, reasonable dps output, holds aggro fairly well.
Over all I like this beetle but I am not completely sure Glyph is a pet for Serinar.

Tamed the wolf on Bixy already. going to figure out which croc to get on Seri after these dungeons

Bixy decided to go look for everyones favourite grey .. Old Cliff Jumper



I have this worg on several toons already so he may not stay with Bixy but this has to be my favourite color.
The model needs updating but it still has a certain charm despite the flaws.

Meet Tooths.


Bixy took him along while questing in Hellfire, and to Underbog.





Attack : Consists of mainly biting,somewhat monotone animation but it works, I personally do wish they would have added some kind of swipe or lunge, kind of like what the other wolves have.
Running : A loping kind of gallop that works well enough with the model.
Dps is decent, a pet that works reasonably well as all specs.
The model itself could use some work with stretched textures and obvious pixelation in places as well as beeing abit boxy but over all it works well enough, the color is one of my favourites.

I am having abit of trouble with Seri's challenge, mainly because I have that color on other toons and I've never really been able to click well with crocs in general.
I will be doing the challenge but it might not be a very detailed report, sort of like the wasp.

I said I would be doing the croc ..
But frankly it seems there is little interest in this thread right now which has honestly made me lose interest as well, I will be keeping the croc in mind for the future when this thread gets more attention again.

This brought back memories. I found my four challenges I did it seems forever back in time. Reading my reports (Briamae) was a great reminder what a fun experience! I noticed this hasn't been going for awhile. I wanted to take a few moments to thank the wonderful person that started this challenge. To all my fellow hunters, thank you for sharing your experiences too. What a fantastic thread to read even more so now. Thanks for all the memories!

Hello! I'm Tyger, the person who used to run this thread. It's been a long time since I've been active here and in WoW, but since I've started dabbling in the game again and my intense love for hunters and their pets remain, I wondered if there might be interest in people wanting to do these again. There's so many new pets that it would be fun to see updated reports. If there is interest, we can just keep this thread going, or I can start a new one.
