Yeah if you look at the OP in this thread, you'll see all the hydra colours listed out and which ones have been tested and confirmed tameable :)

That means all except the bronze one, which has been MIA since Azshara was changed in Cata. So, yeah, if you're in the old world on the beta, just keep an eye out in case it puts in an appearance somewhere :)

I just want the lava spiders in Burning Steppes to actually glow. We got glowy firespiders since then, and that's great, but they use the mine spider model and I'd much rather have the blocky lava one with rocks on it. Only all the 'white hot' areas have no glow effect, probably because the technology wasn't there in early vanilla... and now there is, and the fact that things that are supposed to be 'white hot' emit no light bug the heckbuttons out of me. Please, for the love of Glod, fix this, Blizzaaaaard /endwhine

D: I love that spiders got so much attention over the years, they have quite a large and varied family when it comes to tameable models, but Blizzard seems to stick with the regular look and skeleton. Tarantulas would be so cute and fluffy with new models and perhaps some tweaked animations.
This ^

As much as I sometimes find their running animation a bit funny looking at high speed (running next to a mount) with their flurry of whirling tarantula toes, they have never received any kind of upgrade and remain untouched since vanilla and they are so dam cool!

With what they can do with model upgrades these days, I'm just chomping at the the bit for them to do an updated version of these. The variants that are available in RL and what else they could add to them in wow, they could be sooooooooo dam good :(

Sorry I just cant help my self.....

Oh yeah! With the kinds of textures they could do nowadays, they could make damn fine tarantulas. I really hope they redo them soon. In fact, they could also check at their skeleton (like they did for the new ravagers: not yet on beta on the wild version, but it is on the newer Grinning Reaver version) and redo their animations a bit, or add to them. The same way they gave the Grinning Reaver a lot more weight and realism to their steps, as opposed to the silithid/qiraji gliding.

And frankly, I've been waiting for an update for them for so long. I want to like them, but unlike some of you, I really -- really suck at dealing with low quality models. If there is a more HD version, I will almost always take that over the older version. The tarantulas have great potential to look great, especially with the quality models have nowadays.

That said, I've seen some spiders that I think had the <PH> or <TEMP model> tag. Though those were just the more skinny types of spiders. Very #SAVAGE tarantulas would fit Draenor, though.

When I think of how many hydras I want to tame, plus any new WoD beasts that show up as time goes on....my stable looks rather small....

Chimaeron, keeping my ghost hydra I've had since Wotlk, black outland hydra, purple thunder hydra....that's a lot of heads in my stable.

I love the outland hydras. Despite, or perhaps because of, how completely freakish their heads are.

Me too. Just finished up my Hydra Tour :) tamed about every one in the game except a couple that are obvious since I'm not lvl 100 yet :) Most of them I took screenshots of and are in my photobucket album.

I've seen quite a few different birds with PH models, which gives me hope we'll see some new birds (aside from the stormcrow and its fiery version). There are some ji-kun models in Talador that are PHs, and the druid crow model that can be found all over SMV is labeled as a PH too.

Has anyone considered asking Muffinus as to whether or not Raptors and Devilsaurs will appear on mainland Draenor, or are we going to have to wait until the Fields of Farahlon patch to see them?

Alright, Guys. While I appreciate the discussion on trolls and Draenor (OK, I lie), let's keep things on topic, huh? Make a general thread for things like this, and keep this one open for 'potential new hunter pets'!

I just asked him after reading this! I don't know why I didn't earlier , considering the dinomaniac I am. Hopefully I'll hear back!

I can confirm that Raptors will indeed be inhabitants of mainland Draenor, as a datamined NPC known simply as "Ripclaw" can be found by searching for the name on WoWhead.

It's likely that Ripclaw, along with the Ravenous Diemetradons and the Gorgrond Pterrorwings are all titanic creations that leaked out of Farahlon by either flying, swimming, or by floating on a pile of debris until they finally found themselves on the eastern coast of Gorgrond.

Ripclaw: http://wod.wowhead.com/npc=75898
Gorgrond Pterrorwing: http://wod.wowhead.com/npc=71782
Ravenous Diemetradon: http://wod.wowhead.com/npc=72815
