This would be my hope for the next level of customization too some day, some kind of sliders. It would not have to be anything excessively picky. Maybe just 2 slider options, one being 3 standard different body types for all models, the same as that of the standard Ecto, Meso, Endo...

followed by a sliders that allow you to pick from, tall, average and short in height. I think that would do wonders to create differentiation and allow more choice, without going crazy.

I really like that idea too SB. :) I don't need anything super fancy, just having even 3 body types to choose from would go miles!

I wouldn't mind it like that. Something simple.

Think is, think of all the people that would try to make skinny pandaren. Or skinny dwarves. There would be nothing but skinny females because half the player base are kids with a distorted view of the ideal female...

...on the other hand, wtb chubby belf. I would play a chubby belf.

Well, I figure if they did something like size sliders, they would make the skinniest size still be pretty reasonable for the race. So pandaren females would still be thick and curvy, and blood elf females would probably not have any thinner options at all.

Or so I can dream.

Well I'd think there would be fat elves and skinny pandaren. They can't all be those sizes we see now can they?

The beauty of this is the "Skinny" or "Portly" version of any race would be completely at the design digression of blizzard. By no means would I think that they would jeopardize their design aesthetics and characteristics towards different races, but there is always some room to wriggle within these scopes.

it could be a simple as this....

Image

... the "Skinny" Panadaren is not the standard preconception of what we would deem to be particularly skinny, but would be compared to that of other Pandaren.
In fact his mother might tell him "Jin, You look tooo skinny, here, have some more ale!"

Personally, just for WoW, I'd be against having different body types made available for players to choose from simply because we have these completely different races set out for us, made for how they should be. If people are wanting to play a 'larger' race, that's what tauren and pandaren are made to be. I've always been into elves in the fantasy, perfect, pretty way. I don't care if people want to judge me for that. It's my opinion and it's what I like to play and clearly many others feel the same way. x)

While I agree that the b'elf females could do with a little more meat on their bones, especially since they can be tank classes wearing heavy armour, I always picked classes that seemed to suit the race better (in my opinion). So my b'elves were hunters or mages. Robes I thought looked better on skinner classes and I liked the idea of an evil undead character, so my undead lady was a warlock. If I wanted to play a warrior I probably would've gone with a pandaren.

I know it's all down to opinion really but most of the time I'd die for more and more character customisation but I'm not really wanting it here. I think the only MMO so far to maybe take the customisation to the extreme end and have possibly too much was GW2. There were some... rather unnecessary options there.

That's a good point. But if they did ever make body type slider, I would very much hope that it would be individually calibrated to each race, so there'd only be a little give and take over their default sizes. So no big, roly-poly blood elves ;)

*squee* more facial expressions to drool over. gnomes and tauren have some really nice ones and the undead ones are kind of funny. I really liked the female human ones as well. I always avoided the female humans due to just how bland and frustrating their character creation is for me but they are starting to win me over just a little bit.
Night elves are looking great of course. I see she now has proper fangs. I think they look good. they are there but they don't look so big as to cause a lisp. The first face in the third panel looks kind of out of place though.
Dwarves look good but am I the only one who thinks their mouth opens a little two wide? especial in the sixth picture on the first panel. I feel like they are going to unhinge their jaw, dip me in beer batter and swallow me whole.

They kind of have this on WildStar, minus a height slider/choice.

I love my buff Mordesh and skinny Granok. :3

I support this!

Also, wat-

That's the Draenei Defender... at the very least a new mini-pet but also likely to be about in full sized versions.

Overall I like them. The tendrils look unfinished tho. I'm still hoping they'll add feathering to the hooves tho, don't like the abrupt stop. Was also hoping they'd be less top heavy but oh well...veins in arms are kinda too much.

The facial expressions are great tho! Love the details in the head crests.

The armored underwear...hahaha....

I think the three options for body size is enough, anymore and you'll spend like an hour making a character like in GW or Elder Scrolls...ergh! There is a thing as too much choice imo!

I'm loving some of the new textures but I'm really unhappy with my draenei's transformation on the beta. I feel like he overdosed on steroids or ate something he was allergic to. And his single chin tentacle is now so... engorged... I feel almost like I should cover it up :P
