*nod* That's what I'm suspecting. Not that I don't think they could make a new skeleton, I'm just admittedly skeptical considering all of the other Pandarian creatures and NPCs that have used recycled skeletons...why would the quilen get special treatment above everything else? I think they can do great with the worg base though, perhaps just touching it up in specific places to prevent severe clipping. :) In any case, excited to see what we get regardless!

The most curious part of all of this to me is why the quilen are temporarily on the cat skeleton if the worg skeleton is going to be the base for the new one.

Catdogs? O_O

I would beg for the worg skeleton to remain temporarily while the real deal gets fixed up, but I guess it's kind of better this way - the difference will be more noticeable.

Perhaps they started out on the cat skeleton since they resembled lions, then someone decided to see what they'd look like on the worg/dog skeleton and rigged one skin to test it (the stone one). After they decided they'd just build a new one they threw the cat ones back so the colours were at least all there in the meantime?

Another guess on my side. Recycling animation skeletons is not a hard rule - they probably just have a policy "if it fits on an old skeleton, why bother making a new one?" So a new cat fits a cat skeleton, porcupine fits the crittery skeleton, and turtles fit with turtles. They tried Quilen on both skeletons, and decided it doesn't fit, so they're making a new one. It's just "does it fit or not", if you ask me.

That and the other thing to take into consideration, they also said they wanted to add a lot more mounts this expansion. If they still wish to do this, adding a new "ground" based frame/skeleton to the current ones available will really help add/broaden the options for designs and animations that they may have felt did not work so well on current ones.

As much as I am so very happy and excited to hear that the Quilen are getting new rigging all together, I'm also really excited of the other possibilities it will add to the rest of the game along the way.

I can wait to see what they come up with :D

So they'll be using the ever-popular protodrake skeleton! :D

(I actually liked that one but it seemed every other person in existence had their panties in a knot over it)

Aww, I loved the proto-drake skeleton! They have one of my favourite flight animations, and they're just so adorable. I thought it suited the firehawks perfectly as well.

The protodrake skeleton is my favorite flying mount type. Sigh! One of these days that elusive Ironbound will mine!

/Agreed, still my favorite as well Veph, that plus if your character has a larger framed model (eg. Male worgen/draenei/tauren) it really looks like a beast/mount that can quite comfortably carry your weight, they are nice and beefy :)

I don't wanna derail this thread further but wow... all the closet proto skeleton lovers are coming out. Cool! :)

I think a few people disliked it for technical reasons and a bunch of... people who suffer from the illusion that cynicism gives them status in the eyes of others... just jumped on the bandwagon. It became a bit of a meme.

The proto skeleton looks a little weird on the birds, but the skeleton itself is fine. :D

There's not much we can say on topic aside from speculating about the quilen skellie anyway. ;)

I think proto drakes where the best thing to come from WOTLK. <3 So much love for them.

I'm sure the new skeleton will work well one them! I mean it's made for them XD Of course it'll be reused but hey why spend more money making new rigs when you have a perfectly good one allready? Every game does it.

An alternate dance for all races! Imagine walking into Stormwind or Orgrimmar and seeing everyone dancing like this at the same time XD Or a new running animation for all races, and huge groups of people running all over the place like that XD XD
