It's done that on occasion.Ardawen wrote:Sometimes i get annoyed that curse claims to update when it tries to install a version that is older then the one i downloaded, so some i have on ignore and i will do manualy.

Re: PetEmote Addon - New shiny things
Well, we have a problem. I tried to add new families, same way I did with hydras, and its not working. So, the new lock minions...the new pet families....it doesn't look good for them.
Ok, I got one. Lets see if I can do it again!

Re: PetEmote Addon - New shiny things
Am I the only one having problems with pets constantly emoting as if hungry? I feed them and nothing changes. I command "/pe happiness off" like how it worked for older versions of the addon and it says "pet happiness will not affect emotes" like always, but they still act like they're starving...

Seriously, is there any bugfix or something for this?Wykea wrote:Am I the only one having problems with pets constantly emoting as if hungry? I feed them and nothing changes. Re: PetEmote Addon - New shiny things
I'm not had this problem. Only thing I can suggest is reinstalling the addon.

Re: PetEmote Addon - New shiny things
I have never had this problem. I really wish I could help, but I have no idea. I have happiness on. When they're hungry, I feed them and life goes on. My technical prowess consists of "turn it off, then on again" if its not working, so as Jessibelle said, maybe reinstalling will help.Jessibelle wrote:I'm not had this problem. And on an unrelated note, I have the memory of a goldfish here lately. I can't recall if I posted the batch that has the new imp and ghoul emotes or not. If you are still seeing the old ones, I haven't. Could someone let me know so that I can post them if needed? They've been done forever

Re: PetEmote Addon - New shiny things
redownloaded the addon from here, still had the "hungry" problem... deleted my associated WTF files, about to see if the problem still exists if treated like a clean install of the addon...
On a sidenote, it seems the editor doesn't work at all, the window comes up, but it's completely blank.
...
Just checked... nope, still frequently showing "hungry" emotes even after "/pe happiness off".
...
Last resort - I dug into the LUA itself and commented-out the entire section that checks for pet happiness. hope I didn't break the addon...
...
Yup, I broke it. need some way to futz with the pet happiness part of the code so it's always happy.
...
Weird, I used the Curse installer to fully uninstall the addon and reinstall it, and now it seems to work just fine. Freaky. Though sometimes my spider pet Ozzy will emote "Ozzy rubs." as if part of the emote string failed to parse properly.
...
woo, bug is back again. seems to glitch into stuck-as-"hungry" during flightpaths, when the pet respawns at path's end if it happens when tabbed-out. unloading and reloading the addon seems to temp-fix it...

Re: PetEmote Addon - New shiny things
Hehe, yeah. My bad on that. There's this thing in the editor called continuation. You can start a phrase then give it a variety of endings. Like "spider rubs: its legs together, its blah blah blah, etc" But if you forget to tell it to continue the phrase you end up with things like "Spider rubs" I thought I'd fixed that, but Efindel is working with a rather older version of my emotes, so it may have snuck back in. Either way, if you want the custom files, which is the newer stuff that he hasn't had a chance to add yet, it should be fixed in there.Wykea wrote: Though sometimes my spider pet Ozzy will emote "Ozzy rubs." as if part of the emote string failed to parse properly.

I seem to get lua errors from PetEmote on my lock when I try to remove a talent. Anyone else get that problem?

Yup, I also sometimes get it from AtlasLoot and MogIt.Jessibelle wrote:I seem to get lua errors from PetEmote on my lock when I try to remove a talent. Anyone else get that problem?
Guess something about the new talent setup is still a speck finicky.

Probably. Usually a few reloads fixes it....eventually. XD

Re: PetEmote Addon - New shiny things
Noticed another error just now. Spirit Beasts currently emote, "stares %t thoughtfully" instead of, "stares at %t thoughtfully".
Also, a few suggestions for shivarra emotes. I'm still lacking in inspiration, but hopefully these will spark something
Shivarra rolls
-- her upper shoulders
-- her middle shoulders
-- her lower shoulders
-- all three pairs of shoulders
Shivarra adjusts her headdress.
Shivarra performs an intricate dance with her swords
-- mesmerising her audience
Shivarra glances from side to side, clearly bored.
Shivarra inspects the nearby mortals, looking for someone to vent her anger on.

Re: PetEmote Addon - New shiny things
Sorry for the double-post (can't tell who's read the above and who hasn't and all that
). To add to the previous notification Beetles are also suffering a missing word. "Beetle looks up %t and waves- etc" rather than "Beetle looks up at %t". Unless of course the beetle in question is studying the target and went to look them up on the Armoury.
Ironically the emote directly below is correct ("Beetle looks up at %t and clacks/rattles etc") as is "Beetle looks up at his/her master/mistress- etc" further down.

Re: PetEmote Addon - New shiny things
I'm so good at dropping words
Thank you for noticing that, cause I could read that sentence 5 times and my mind would fill in the missing word each. Good eye for detail!
I like the Shivarra emotes, starting to get a good grasp on Her Haughtiness's personality.
I haven't done much with the editor other than testing that I could still add families. Caught a nasty summer cold, then a random health issue and now I think I have the first case of flu in the state for the year. Go me.
I apologize to the woefully silent minions, basilisk and fen striders out there.

Re: PetEmote Addon - New shiny things
Is there a way I can remove the German emotes? I play with German client and with my language as German and I always get the same boring emotes. I want shiney new emotes too
Does anyone know how I can select the pet emote language?

Efindel, I've been so busy having the plague I never thanked you for the update. Thank you for the update!
Re: PetEmote Addon - New shiny things
Hello
I just downloaded this addon and I already found something that..confuses it lol. I have an undead bird named Worm. The first emote action Worm did was to tie himself in a knot and looked pleased with his cleverness. Talented bird.
Is there a way to make him act like a bird without changing his name? Changing /pe family to bird of prey doesn't work. I am on a Mac if that matters.

I would like to give a special thank you to Varethyn and Toph. Because of your efforts I just might have this done in time for MoP
