Tamed turtles and tigers thread!

Yea, if you wanted them in the same group, you'd call them Canines since dogs, while they descended from wolves, are nothing like wolves in appearences and also because of domestication. 'Course they carry the natural instinct still since its supressed but you let a dog go feral and it turns into a city-wolf, but i dont consider dogs and wolves to be in the same group beyond the classification Canine anymore, not even coyote which is thought to have evolved into their species during the time of the dire wolves 1.81million years ago. They look sort of like wolves but they're better related to jackals.

And foxes would have to be placed in Canine too if the wolf and dog family was to be combined, since they are canines as well

Those tiger faces are just so beautiful. Now that is what a tiger should look like, even if they are a little pudgy. "It's just cub-fat, really!" If more stable slots are not added, I'm going to have to make a sacrifice somewhere. When it comes to the crunch, however, I suppose I'd rather have a chubby new tiger than Skarr, so I could simply abandon his placeholder and not persue him. Even though these tigers are a great improvement upon the ones we have now, I just don't think I could let my baby go.

The turtles are an easier matter. I would vastly prefer a dragon turtle to my current place-holder for Terropene, and indeed Terropene himself. But I agree that the ridging and fins makes them look a lot more draconic, and hopefully that will be implemented in time.

I got her! Nangara is finally by my side....at least on Beta. I've wanted this tiger since it was first released at Blizzcon and I've known for a while I was going to name her Nangara. It's the name given to a tiger in Nepal who's made quite a few attacks on people. I saw a documentary about people trying, and failing, to hunt her down. As far as I know after 11 years she's still alive and kicking. And eating. I love the name and knew that was the name for my future pixelated Tiger. This is definitely something that feels right. One of those tames you know from the get go is going to work out.

That particular model is the 'grey' one, I don't believe the true white one has been spotted anywhere yet, it has solid blue eyes with no pupils. The silver is a lovely colour though regardless, and in the new MoP lighting it's bright as white anyways.

I don't agree. Behaviorally, lions are not tigers. Looks-wise, yeah, dogs and wolves can look alike. Anyways I'm surprised, when I looked and checked on the official message boards, that no one's reported the brand-new, Mists of Pandaria tameables. I gotta have a white Porcupine! And You Tube has videos up for a tamed porcupine and several for the tameable caterpillars.

Finally found a proper name for my tiger! It came down to either Platon, a Russian name meaning "wide-shouldered" or Ruslan, a Russian name meaning "Lion-like"

I decided on Ruslan. He's no lion, but the sound of the name just really fit him. I wanted Platon because hell, these tigers do have some large shulders, but I couldn't see him as Platon. I could only see him as Ruslan. ^^

I need to get a hol of a certificate of ownership in beta, but as soon as I do I'll change it!

I still haven't any clue what my tiger's name will be, but he has certainly become my pet of choice for beta adventuring. <3

I have to admit, looking at all these tigers, I'm going to have to weigh very heavily how I feel about Evangelion, my Sambas! I suppose I'll know better once I start wandering around and watching them. I'm more a lion person than a tiger person, but... but... but...

My future Pandaren and her planned main pet. ^.^ Named Yumiko at the moment, but I'm thinking of switching it to Kana.
If this all goes according to plan at live, this will be my first hunter with a female pet as their main pet. XD

I've not been the biggest fan of the Pandas but everyday my bf's been wearing me down to roll one. So I figured what the hell and am going to roll a Panda Hunter named Curvalicious with a bear named Phat Mama being one of the first pets tamed. The starting turtle will be called Sumo! I might as well at least try one out, right?

I got one of the black tigers on Tahlian...sort of a try-out in the event I have to do a model-swap with him to be able to keep this cat.

On beta, however, the tiger's named Tenebrae.

I feel so heartbroken right now. T_T

I've been pondering and pondering on a name for my black tiger since I've become so attached to him. I was waiting for the perfect name to hit me, that one that would just click immediately.

It happened today. I was sitting there looking at him in beta and then I could see it - Khan.

As I eagerly went to type it in, I remembered too late that it was a reserved name. I was crushed. I can't think of him as anything else now, so I'm trying to see if I can tolerate using an accented character. Usually I hate doing that as a loophole, but this tiger can't be called anything else.



How does it look to you guys?
