The people who don't think that this isn't a goddamn breeding game seriously need to remove their head from their asses -- why the flip-loving FUCK do they think we have breeding in the first place then? So our dragons don't get bored?

I want to punch everyone in the face that says that breeding isn't supposed to be the main income for the site. The games give you jack shit compared to the selling of hatchlings, they can bite my pasty fucking white ass if they want to bitch about me bitching about how the economy is so fucking borked that where I should normally be getting major pay-out for some of these dragons, I'm getting fucking shit in return.

What kills me is the white knights that're blaming us as players for the failing economy. This is partly true but with no new blood and no way to fix it what the FUCK are we supposed to do? We have to keep adjusting dragon prices to even sell them. It pisses me off. THIS. IS. A. BREEDING. GAME. The fairegrounds and colli are boring and they're shit. The treasure cap is 75k and you expect me to waste away hours of my day doing that shit? No, no that isn't fair at all. I love this site but damn it they shouldn't have opened it if they didn't plan on dealing with so many people. Also the kickstarter snobs can kiss my ass.

If they don't intend for breeding to be the main source of player income they need to introduce an expansive variety of other methods, or change the game itself.

Neopets is the first comparison that comes to mind, where there was an entire world to explore, lots of dailies, random events, stories and plots, a plethora of games, and a large player driven market, among countless other things to do. The problem is Flight Rising would need years to build up that sort of game, so unless they want the site to stagnate I really do hope they'll look at alternatives and let us at least get something more from Exalting, which seems like the best "fix" right now. Gives us a more stable bottom value for dragons, with variables depending on breed and genes. Exalting needs to become a more attractive option.

I feel like they're trying to do two things at once and can't decide which type of site they want to be. Neopets didn't have breeding and you couldn't exactly make money from your pets, but they were there to collect and dress up and save up for paintbrushes and such. That seems to be what they're implying they want us to do, save up for pretty dragons and outfit them to our whims. The difference is that Neopets had ways to earn money in order to accommodate that. Right now FR is just stuck in a sort of limbo where the economy is dropping and there's no treasure going around to fuel the luxury purchases like scrolls and genes, nor is there a point to do so when AH prices are at an all time low.

It's just all very messy, and while I have fun on the site, my will to log in every day and grind Coliseum or Fairgrounds is quickly disappearing. They're just not very appealing as a sole income source.

Now I want to play Neopets again. I collected fruit in that game XD

Personally I'd rather them use their time to focus on working on fixes rather then waste time digging through pages of forum reports and suggestions and then take time to comment on them...of course if they did focus on the forums more, then any sort of repairs would be delayed...but /gasp!! how dare they not be able to do both at the same time? But wait...isn't FR free to play? Wait, isn't the staffs income from this reliant on the ads and gem purchases? That doesn't really sound like it'd pay the bills...oh they must also have day jobs to help pay bills...but that takes away from FR time, how DARE THEY!!
Maybe it's just that I understand things from the other perspective, every time I work its directly with "entitled" customers who don't understand why they can't have everything on a silver platter...Nor is running a business with a fluctuating customer bases so cut/paste as many people seem to think it is...

There is so much I want to go on forever about, so, soooo much, based entirely on the fact they obviously saw this coming and it was never addressed during the brainstorming, designing, or beta testing of the game, or through research of other similar sites to see how they evolved and what it took for them to keep the interest long enough to be able to evolve into whatever they are now. I just, I can seriously not understand the admins in the slightest. It seems like they were in SUCH A HURRY to get FR out and live and making them money that they just flipped off all the warning signs along the way. There's going to be dips and not everyone is going to be happy, that's obvious, it will also take time for things to smooth out, that too is obvious. But it's blatantly clear the admins didn't do their research right and turned blind eyes to problems they already knew were going to arise in the long term. If they just waited a bit longer and did proper research of successful adoptable sites, if they just waited till the new year, maybe we wouldn't be in this mess of arguing and defending and ranting.

Not being able to breed for a profit? So... what's supposed to keep us coming back once we achieve our goals and can't afford more lair space? It sounds like you all are punishing players for being active... That's a really bizarre thing for a game which is, ultimately, a breeding sim.

The rest of the updates are exciting! I just really hope you rethink the economy stuff.

Flight Rising is not a breeding sim. It is a pet site/web RPG with breeding elements.

i still wanna play the game but if its a rpg site then it should have some better games with higher payouts....

You are right most of the issues the site has could of been fixed with a longer beta/bug testing. The excuse of "they have day jobs they could not of for seen these things" is mostly bull. I mean that is what beta testing IS FOR. To find bugs and stuff and then you know fix those bugs and then test to see if they show up again. But who am I kidding? The FR people know jack shit about jack all.

Man I log on just to see a few things, not to play and I have 4 messages asking if *insert dragon here* is for sale. I think I should put I sign up saying " Unless it's on the AH don't ask if a dragon is for sale as I find it extremely rude"


But the question is would anyone even bother to read said sign?

I've sent people messages when I'm looking for a specific color range of dragon, but I try to be courteous and check for a couple of factors: If it's unnamed and if it's from the same element as them. Generally if it's a different element I don't ask because that means they had already bought it instead of breeding it.

After thinking about it, I'm currently not real happy with the direction FR is headed in and will be taking a break from the game. I just don't understand how this is not a breeding game when it has such a complex breeding system and I hate how the people in the community who think it's fine are extremely rude to those who don't.

If someone here has a specific breeding request from a pair of mine, I'll log in to breed them, otherwise I am going inactive for a while and might check in with the site later on after they've hopefully fixed up a lot of their issues.

I see nothing wrong with asking if you're nice about it. I usually check to see if the parents are in the same lair. If they are, I don't worry as much when I ask... But if it looks like the dragon was bought, I feel a little more nervous about asking.

Until people start doing what they do on Neopets and putting "THIS DRAGON IS NOT UFT/UFA", then I see no harm in asking kindly. How else are we supposed to know? o3o If people really get upset about getting letters asking if a dragon is up for trade or adoption, the person should put something on their lookup or the dragons lookup IMO.

See peopel would ignore that too seeing as FR people are dumb as all hell. That is what the AH is for. Don't give me that lame ass excuse of "ohh but I can't search for a colour"
