Upon entering the Mists of Pandaria our intrepid heroes discover...
THE PANDAREN HAVE ALL BEEN EATEN.
BY DRAGONS.
New race: PLAYABLE DRAGONS.
The dragons will steer us through 5 patches worth of troll raids as we systematically obliterate all the great troll enemies and their gods... Resurrected for the third or fourth times.
You have dragons and then you have trolls.
You have dragons and then you have trolls.
You have dragons and then you have trolls.
You have dragons and then you have trolls.
IT'S LIKE THEY'RE ONE IN THE SAME...ish. :3

Well it's common knowledge that all original ideas spring from Blizzard, and everyone else just steals them. Even if the thief stole the idea a century before Blizzard existed.Royi wrote:WoW-fanboys would complain that it copied WOW and Yogg-Saron and C'thunWorba wrote:Well it would be pretty sweet if they could make a decent Cthulhu-based MMO...
Re: Mists of Pandaria
It'd be cool if they could have red panda-based pandaren too. With tails. Much like a wolvar only nice. And red. I know red pandas (aka firefoxes) aren't true pandas but they are damn awesome

Re: Mists of Pandaria
Darn Norway for stealing the idea and the name of Fjords from the Howling Fjord zone. Re: Mists of Pandaria
That would be nice as the new 5-man. No one sees it anymore. Or they could do the AQ raids.Kirsten wrote:They need to bring back Karazhan. Amirite or amirite?
Re: Mists of Pandaria
Mists will indeed be the new expansion. We'll see the new continent that there's space for on the map. The pandarians will be there, but they won't be playable, they'll be like the walrus-folk in Northrend. We'll quest for them.
The Emerald Dream will be part of the expansion, but just as the Maelstrom was part of Cata. (And they couldn't have named the expansion Emerald Dream, that is already trademarked like crazy). Emerald dream will be akin to Firelands in Cata.
And no, I don't expect a new class or race this time around.

Re: Mists of Pandaria
Northrend was already there it just didn't show on the map, and if you look at the globe in ulduar there is a land mass at the south pole. On the tabard of the explorer this mysterious land mass appears as well.Kirsten wrote:That's what I was thinking, though. Pandarains will be like the Tuskarr. But, they could do a third land like Outlands, Azeroth, and something else. It would be really dumb for ANOTHER continent to pop up out of no where like Northrend did.
Also... it looks like a panda :O

Yep. Given those signs and the fact that they've filled in most of the other missing zones, that continent filled with brew-loving furries is the next logical step. The final expansion will be going to fight the burning legion on their own turf. (Ala outlands...).Kurenio wrote:Northrend was already there it just didn't show on the map, and if you look at the globe in ulduar there is a land mass at the south pole. And yeah, two more expansions for WoW, that's all.

Re: Mists of Pandaria
You could be right, however there is one simple (main) reason why I think pandaren will be playable - it's not enough to just release new zones and touch up talent trees for an xpac - you need something with "flash" to it, something that changes the game itself in some way and makes (at least some) players go ZOMGIGOTTATRYTHATNEWTHING.Slickrock wrote:What I'm expecting is....

If it's not going to be new races / classes then what?

Re: Mists of Pandaria
Blizzard scrapped the idea a while ago. There was a blue post somewhere about it too I think. So yeah. No Emerald Dream....especially since Emerald Dream would be extremely lore shattering.

Re: Mists of Pandaria
but they can always retcon. The reason there is no way they can do it anytime soon is because malfurion is out of the dream. Before he left he locked the nightmare in the eye of ysera. So until that thing break free there is no point in anyone going there.Jessibelle wrote:There's one problem about the Emerald Dream bit....

Re: Mists of Pandaria
You know how much of a fit that would cause? Druids ever since Warcraft have said the dream is a druid only place. they'd have to retcon EVERYTHING. x.x; It's not as easy as retconning the worgen. Worgen had very little to begin with. Retconning the Emerald Dream would require retconning druid lore.Kurenio wrote:but they can always retcon. Re: Mists of Pandaria
Well it's activision... if they could make a lot of money off it they would. As for worgen it's not to major of a retcon as making one of the 2 lore reason for there being the truth. One was the Elune giving them the scythe to combat something. The second one was Argul (I believe was his name probably wrong) pulling them from another dimension. The current story is that of the scythe, but it was extended a bit further saying that the worgen we currently have were feral druids that lost their mind. The scythe itself is still included. Now I want to go research the full story. Oh well what I wonder is those other planets that are shown in HoL and uld that were said to be connected to draenor(outland) by the other dark portals on what remains of that planet. I believe they once said we would go there in a future expansion or at least it was that the dark portals would open again. That's a topic for a different thread.Jessibelle wrote: You know how much of a fit that would cause?
