I started reading Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norell, and enjoyed what I read, but got distracted by other things--plan to get back to it eventually.
Aaagh I know! I'm just hoping that, for the first time in a 5/6-book series, there'll be more story and less flora and fauna D:Miraga wrote:Waiting to get my hands on a copy of the final book in the Earth's Children series! SO EXCITED! *runs around in circles, flailing wildly*
It didn't click for me that it was the Jean Auel books until you said thatXella wrote:I'm just hoping that there'll be more story and less flora and fauna D:

I also recommend his short story collections, I think he does short form fiction well. In fact, what I liked best about American Gods was the little stories scattered throughout, and my favorite parts of Sandman were in the beginning, when it was more episodic.Ikutai wrote:I'm rereading my favourite book, American Gods by Neil Gaiman.
My english teacher made a very good statement of why so many teenage girls identify with the main character there. "She has no personality, has a thing for vampires, and has no opinions." Something like that anyway, I can't remember everything he said.Saturo wrote:

I hope true blood was written before twilight, seeing as those are very similiar.Raven wrote:I just finished reading "Dead until Dark". It is the first book in a series that "True Blood" is based off of. Very good. I am reading "Deception Point" by Dan Brown now.
Those books are fantastic! Lady Mara ftw!Miyon wrote:I have recently read the Empire Trilogy by Raymond E. Feist.. I'd love to read those again, and I even cried a little at the end.. xD
"The Knight Templar".Currently trying to read the next book in his series, and a book by Jan Guillou; "Tempelriddaren", no idea if there's an english title for it too.
