I'm tired of all the assumptions and generalizations people make.

"Oh, they named their pet Dog? They obviously don't care for their pet."
"Oh, they named their Magria Magria? They obviously are a jerk."
"Oh, you like killing rare spawns? You must be a mean person who likes seeing hunters cry."
"Oh, this guy is a petopian and was a jerk? We can break the rules and name/shame him to oblivion."

The number just goes on and on. People really do wonder why hunters have a bad rep? Because all these pets bring out the worst in each of them. See Cowmu's rant as well, really.

Not directed to anyone, but more of a general rant as a whole to the hunter community.

Their pets they can name them as they please, standing on the spawn points is annoying (as in afking on the points.) But using said pet for dailies and farming I have no issue with that I don't see why others should, NPCscan, SliverDragon and track beasts on what more help do you need ... Maybe googling timers :s
I know it can be annoying but not everything is for Hunters or just for one person in the game.

Thats why Blizzard need to make a one handed mace for Tanks instead of giving Casters a staff as a legendary Tanks need love to :c
And Feral druids so maybe a Polearm after the Mace? They are the only ones who haven't had one yet :c No offence to you casters! Love you but you've had one :c Someone else needs ago now before WoW is over :c

Also Im 100% sure Cowmu doesn't give all the rares just the ones that drop good items like most people do hey I killed Skoll for that sweeeeeet SP dagger <3 Which I used for a very long time c:
Keep inmind some are achiv requirements to Im working on the TBC and WoTLK one atm!

Some collect tabards, mini pets, combat pets, tier, seasons, mounts, gold and achivs why stop anyone doing what they want in the game they are paying for it not you when you pay for their accounts you can tell them what they can and can't do. WoW is a game I wish sometimes people would remember that yeah I raged when my own faction steals a tame off me just /ignore and depending on how many times depends on making them KoS to the other faction but know something funny half the time I just /shrug move on it doesn't effect me in real life so why should it matter?

I despise it when someone does something INTENTIONALLY rude and/or violates the play nice policy (and yes, there IS a play nice policy and I DO report people for violating it).

I am aware some of them drop loot and are for achievements and that's fine. I've helped someone finish their Wrath rare achieve. Nice guy even.

Let me add this disclaimer: It's wrong to generalize and there are good peeps who happen upon a tamable rare and feel horrible after or whatever. Or someone couldn't find a home, whatever. It happens. The Northrend rares do drop good loot and that's fine. I only want the Cata/MF grey dropping rares to be protected. Perhaps visible to only hunters or they spawn the Cleaner on being hit for hilarious people exploding lulz (Yes, I'm horrible for thinking it'd be hilarious to switch Kirix and Anthiss' spawn points. MORE FACES FOR THE SPIDER GOD!).

"They aren't there just for hunters! You're GREEDY!" ... yes they are for hunters. That's why they're tamable and drop little loot while not being for an achievement. Said loot has flavor text that states they wanted to be a pet. "It's my RIGHT to kill it for that grey! You're just GREEDY! My gold!" How is it less greedy to scream about killing it for a meagre bit of loot? Really? Both sides are greedy if you think about it that way. If they aren't for hunters, what are they for? Improv comedy routines? Tap dancing partners? Extras in a bad movie about Bear Grylls? It baffles me how wanting a pet one will use is any greedier than 'OMG MY GREY ITEM MINE'. Or 'my right to take a screenshot of a dead rare. >:D' That is my main beef with this. How is one side greedier than the other? That's my main beef with the argument.

"YOU are greedy for wanting people to tame it and have it protected but I am not greedy for wanting to kill it for a grey item." Bwah? Call me Scrooge McDuck then I guess.

This is NOT including Jadefang, she drops a minipet and frankly people tend to be understanding. Although I got my head bitten off for having the pet and the minipet. Owch. I'm a griefer and a b*tch according to that night elf hunter. I can see the second one being true but the first... I *like* the minpet and I am thrilled others want squees and minisquees. Again, I guess this makes me a witch on both sides of the fence. I probably deserve to have a house dropped on me at this point and given plummeting real estate values, someone MAY just have a house to drop on me. >_>

I'm pretty sure being unable to kill oh, 19 rares or so won't kill ya. Maybe even add some new untamable, squish-able rares in Molten Front and Hyjal for trophy/rare hunters. That'd be cool. Perhaps even a third mount dropping rare guy. Ride a flaming bi-- no, I don't see that ending well...

... dear god, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to spawn a Teal Deer. O_o I also suspect I finally beat the dead horse into glue. Anyone need some paste? I promise I'm done. I had to get that out though, it was eating at me.

As far as naming pets, I think it's kind of silly and unoriginal to name a pet after its original rare spawn but it's ... not my pet so y'know, none of my business. Frankly I'm more frustrated that I can't have Jade, Ragnarok or a cool name like that because it's 'reserved' but some yutz can use P*nis (uncensor that in your mind), vajayjay references, 'Pinchyourass' or any other classy racist/disgusting names but I can't freaking have JADE!? >:( Yes, someone has a Karkin named 'Pinchyourass' and it's completely uncensored. ... but no Schnapps or Jade or - *explodes*

On a non-gaming rant note: Aaah, leaf blowers at 7AM on Saturday!? You MONSTER!

OK sooo i have been having some massive shitty luck in wow. I been camping ankha for over a week and have yet to have her spawn for me i have homed so many Mag's and the only time ankha has is when i have not been online. So i ben really bummed/upset about that THEN to add salt into the wound we had 2-3 server restarts this morning THERE GOES MY TIMER!! then to FUCK MY whole day over my car which i have only had MAYBE A MONTH.... transmission takes a UBBER dump and is no longer drivable and i have no way to get it fixed and i start class in 2 weeks .. WTF ._.

... no one told you off. I just rarely hear a good argument for killing hunter rares besides "cuz I wanna punch it for a grey MINE" and was tired of being called 'greedy' for wanting those few rares protected.

I was ranting too. As we all have a right to. I even said generalizations were bad. Egads. I even said the horse was beaten to paste. Y'know what, screw it. Here's another rant:

People who lie about having rares then it turns out they tame multiples on their alts AND that character or release the rare to retame it while someone else is trying for it.

So there. Another valid rant.

I think you need to Relax unnamed person I don't like. It's ok for you to basically lock my cat in the basement, as you see fit because god forbid she attacks them. This is HER house, they are un welcome guest in the house. They will never learn to get along, if you keep babying them. So I play around a little abit with one of your cats and you freak out on me. "No wonder she doesn't like you" All I did was pick her up and pet her, yah she was freaking out alittle, but she always does that. I would of put her down. So yah you need to relax and if you don't like it, well to bad. I care not.

Yes, because posting a rant that is so general and vague and only happens to reply to what I said is a rant and is totally justifiable and yay. You can agree generalizations are bad. You can say you've beaten the subject into the ground. But when I rant, and you just happen to make a "counter-rant", it is kind of obvious what the rant was directed towards.

I've said this once, I will say it a million times. Rares are rares are rares. They may be one for class, but if I find it fair and square, I will kill it. If I need to form a raid to kill that, I can and will. I have a common standard of offering it a home to other people, but that's a nice thing I do. Whoever finds and tags it, wins the spoils. That is how it is, that is how it will be.

Seen Ban'Thalos twice so far - both times I log in to find him being tamed.

Also, been trying to get Solix on my dwarf ever since I stumbled across him and screwed up the tame, causing him to run out of energy... next time I see him is when I log in to find a hunter and pally team standing there, with a raid tag on Solix. To rub salt in the wound, they took their sweet time starting the tame also - probably about 2 minutes went by while the hunter just stood there. Pally at one point told me to "shoo", I told him "you're here first, you get first try - good luck". So eventually they go ahead and tame it. I /grats them and get a pally buff. w00t, I guess.

Next time I saw it was tonight, and this is one for would-be parents... log in, not there. Log out, wife wants to talk to me. Get back to the PC to find my boys standing next to the PC grinning. My dwarf is standing in lava, and NPCSCAN is blaring away with Solix rotating at the bottom of my screen, no idea how long this has been going on but targeting macro confirms said arachnid is no longer present... dagnabbit. I've been telling myself it was a player pet.
