Personally, I don't get the dislike of monthly subscriptions. I think the monthly subscription helps align the interests of the game developer with the interests of the player; the bargain is "Keep working on this game to make it better and I'll keep giving you $15 a month to do so." I like that.

Of course, the question is always "Am I getting $15 of value every month?" and I can't make that decision for everyone. Most of the time I am getting it, so I pay it. If I get bored I cancel the sub; the account will still be there if I want to return.

It's certainly a valid criticism of WoW that the high-end content, particularly PvE content, is only available for those who are able to put a HUGE time commitment into the game -- more time than is available to most people with full-time jobs who have anything else to do with their free time but play the game.

I long ago realized that there was no way in hell I could commit to a raid schedule. So all that stuff is unavailable to me. However, I PVP a lot, and that stays a lot fresher because one's opponents are human.

I respect your reasons for leaving too Kurry, please don't get me wrong about that. But I, like Nili, would hate to see you leave especially when we never -really- got to talk.

Good guilds don't need to spend half of their life on the game. Maybe Paragon and the top guilds do, aye. My guild is very healthily progressed and we only raid 3 nights a week. It's not much, but it's still enough to make good progress. Perhaps you were in the wrong type of guilds to actually enjoy PvE content properly. *shrug*

The problem with blizzard not really listening to everyone, is that they can't really listen to everyones need. They'll never, ever, make everyone happy and what the player personally wants. I guess that's why there are so many different MMO's. In my opinion, Warcraft is ruined by mixing PvP and PvE. The abilities constantly being changed is a con for one, and a pro for the other. It'll never be balanced.

All that said, I hope you don't forget about us here and that GW2 makes you happy.
