According to MMO-C it's been confirmed that you need to combine all four of these in JC to make the Jeweled Onyx Panther (The black one). Looks like they're all JC mounts too.

For some reason I can't stop thinking of a fancy sports car whenever I look at the red one.

Edit: Yup. I just checked. None of them say BoP. They're BoE. JCers make them but they're not JC only.

So.. does the four regular gem cats get consumed when made the fifth one, or will you still have them to use and to count towards "the count"? I'd hate to have to make them twice.

I'm not as crazy about the gem kitties as I am the yak and the water strider. However, I actually do kinda like the green kitty mount because it reminds me of actual jade, which is my favorite stone. <3

Now I'm confused... There was a blue post a few days ago saying you would have to combine all the gem cat colours to make the *flying mount*. So... We combine all the four colours to make the flying-gem-panther-thing... What about the regular black gem cat then? I'm assuming the colours combined to make the flying one are red, green, blue and yellow. (Which doesn't make much sense to me, how does combining four coloured cats = flying cat?!) I'm so confused about this now. xD

If its going to cost to much to make the onyx panther mount, or the flying panther mount, I forsee a lot of people complaining about that!

What I would prefer to see is something like where a JC crafts the blue, green, red, and yellow panthers and upon crafting one of each learns how to make the onyx panther. Rather then having the other mounts consumed to make the black one.
This way, they would still keep the requirements of the other mounts, without having them consumed.

As for the flying one, I would like to see that pattern learned upon crafting an onyx panther. Then it would just be a matter of tweeking the mats for the panthers to add more of a chellange (aka headache/goldsink).

I actually expect them to leave it that way, as a gold sink. It will cost 500k to buy the black one. Perfect way to take some of the old gold out of the game. (And yes, I do have the gold to make one).

Like I've already said, there was a blue post stating that to make the flying panther you'll need to combine the other colours. It's still a little hazy but it was stated.

Also I'll be massively disappointed if the panther mounts end up being worth 500k+ or some stupid amount like that. Not all of us have the time to be sat grinding for gold all the time so these mounts will end up being aimed at the people who have the time, patience and 'skills' at the auction house to earn ridiculous amounts of gold.

It sounds like everything is up in the air right now. Speculation is fun and all, but there's really not much to go on. The original tooltips mined suggested it would be the ground onyx panther that was made by JC. This community manager says it's now the flying one and that the cost and the method of manufacture are still not decided. Who knows how many times they'll change things before it's released.

Well, certainly the black one anyway. But Blizz has always added gold sinks in the past, and this would step it up a lot, but considering the amount of gold in game, it's not suprising.

I was actually gonna blow some gold on some TCG mounts if they ever showed up in the AH, but thinking about these, I'm probably going to wait and see what their final plan is. I really would like the woolly rhino though...

There have to be rewards for all play styles! If they want to reward players who play the auction house by letting them have a mount that costs a bit of gold, then I say go for it. Every mount in the game can't be attainable by every single player. That would just be...dull. This game has already been toned down enough without making everything handed to us.

So maybe not everyone can get the pretty gem kitties, but there are like 150 other mounts in the game, there's gotta be something else we can find!

According to a blue post, the RAF Rocket will be retired soon, all speculation is that it will be replaced by the winged black panther mount. So that's not the JC 500k mount, that's a ground mount.
