More then likely, they are planning to overhaul most things come Cata. Since they are changing almost all of the old-world, I expect the new environments to be updated to the current standard. Now, would it make much sense to see the chunky old-world animals roaming around on brand-new, shiny landscapes? Everything is probably getting an upgrade.

I agree, the upgrade will probably come then. All the beasts are in need of a real overhaul, except maybe some of the REALLY new ones, but it'd make sense to do it all at once with Cata.

Be careful when wishing for revamps. Druids wanted their forms redone and now night elf druids are mostly stuck being pink bears. Yes, yes, the new forms are a vast improvement over the old, but it's the idea that beast revamps might not go as well.

This is my point. Blizzard is putting out models now that a lot of hunters don't prefer to the old world models. So revamping the old ones might cause them to turn out more like the newer models than the old ones.

Agree... I HATE my druid's new forms. Bear looks like a rabid badger and the kitty wears jewelry? So Glad I'm balance/resto and don;t have to look at those forms.

I second the hate. My main since launch has been a Druid, with dark blue hair, as it happens. So many people want the old blue kitty look back that my entire server seems to have blue hair these days. I've had to select Day Glo green hair to escape looking like a clone, but now kitty is all pastel-coloured, and my bear reminds me of Elvis. (It's the dark coloured quiff.)

Kitty's hind legs are horribly mangled, too ... I can't stop looking at the unextended one when the cat stands still.

I'm the opposite... I actually rolled my kitty once the new forms were previewed(with the bonus/excuse I could use it to learn how to handle energy-type resources for Cat) BECAUSE of the new forms. I went for white since I like snow leopards(even going with a winter-themed name, literally) but now it seems like every time I turn around I'm seeing white cats, and almost never other colors.

Haha, same story with me. Once I saw the new skins for tauren, I decided at once to roll a druid. I chose tauren because their form colours were so much more natural. Rather then bubblegum pink. >.> I think I prefer the style of the old NE cat form, but the tauren form needed a serious overhaul.

My question is: has Blizz actually come out and said that models are getting a re-work? I know they have said that the water is being polished up a bit, but I haven't personally heard them say a word about things like beasts and such. I'm not getting my hopes up for a revamp of any kind until I hear them say it. And even then, look how long it took for us to get our new druid models (which I personally love my purplish pink kitty, hehe).

I think they vastly improved on the forms, the night elf cat form wasnt as needed as the tauren but they still had gangly bat ears and funny looking eyes - I have my druid as the pinkish/purple kitty because it just looks cool to me and the colors fit night elves really well tbh..they are more tranquil and colorful than the neutral colored tauren. But thats just my opinion maybe if they kept the older models just gave them a less boxy structure that would have appeased everyone? =D

same story with me. Once I saw the new skins for tauren, I decided at once to roll a druid.

See there's the issue... I have a Nelf druid. You wouldn't be so happy with our forms. As for color... I went with the white hair so bear and kitty are arctic white.

I actually like all the new druid forms, and can't wait to see what the Troll and Worgen ones are going to look like. I do actually have a NE Druid, and I love the kitty jewelry! I'm hoping they continue, an upgrade all the other forms as well. ^-^

I would love my Ironjaw that much more if they got rid of her bottom tusks...they look ridiculous. But I liked her coloring the best, even though she wasn't white like the rest of the stables. Yes, Ironjaw is a he, but now that it's Skatha, it's a she

I just don't like how the "white" animals have the black/grey on their backs. Sort of makes them look a little dirty, imo.

In general, I think all pets do their idle actions too frequently. I wouldn't mind a bit more of a pause. The most annoying was the cat stretch/yawn. It happened so frequently that I almost didn't want my Pride Watcher with me if I was going to be standing still for even 10 seconds. I know I can turn pet sounds off, but that takes a bit of the huntery-ness away. I just think they could delay the idle animations a little bit more so my pets don't look like spazzes...

It would be wonderful to see a model update of the old world beasts, but to be honest that is a huge undertaking and I'm regretfully doubtful that we'd see it for next expansion.

I'm sure Blizzard is already up to their chins in work getting Cataclysm prepared, going back to redo pretty much all of the vanilla models would be a big project. Perhaps one day they'll slowly update them, but then I'd assume it would be in staggered releases if at all.

I would also assume that character models themselves would be a higher priority to update since the original races are looking so aged compared to the new ones now.

I can imagine the bright blue-green on flight forms (well, maybe not so bright) but not the other forms so much, and tusks instead of horns for their moonkins, cats, and maybe bears.

I personally don't care for the newer Druid forms; I actually miss the older forms. I don't care for their jewelry anyway, including the tauren cat's nose ring.
