Re: Do you want to be able to control your pet again? (EotB)
Gonna be the outcast here and say I don't miss it. I never used it. I mean I did, but mostly it was to see jumping animations for pets since we rarely see them. I got a new pet maybe once a month, so that's very, very few uses on my part. No one I know really used it or misses it either.
It's nice to get all nostalgic, but it was fairly useless. It was fun to mess around, but the controls just felt clunky and I never used it to 'play' my pet. If anything, I used it to place him somewhere maybe once. You can't tell me you'd rely on it like you do cobra/explosive/aimed shot or any of the Aspects, right? :P Blizzard is putting things in that we will use, and taking things away that majority of us didn't use/found pointless. I can't say I agree with it, but it looks like that's the way things are going.
The roleplay aspect of it all was nice, but pet pathing is so embarrassingly silly sometimes I rarely bring my pets to roleplays. I'll walk beside you - NO WAIT GOTTA RUN TO CATCH UP - walking again - NO WAIT
Just my two copper. ;P

The thing that gripes me the most about the "Move To" replacing EotB, is that if you're pet is engaged in combat the only way to get it to work is to put them on passive 1st, then use the skill. Why would they replace such a fun and useful skill with another that has 0 fun factor and only works half the time.............. A few Blizz Devs need to be punched in the head, knock some sense into them.

I loved the idea of command pet but after i got it i still found myself wanting to use EotB. I cant remember any good exsampels atm but ever so often i reach for the spell and am disapointed to find it missing. It was so helpfull as a low lvl farming the raptor nest in whetlands. I could send my pet in stealthed and scan the cave without ever having to worry about getting swarmed by mobs for nothing. I used it for lots of exsploring like that where sending in my toon would result in death. Also helpful for when my pets stuck on somthing or just for having fun. I miss it =(

Eh I can see being upset about a function not working 100% but that means it needs to be fixed... which I'm sure you agree withRawr wrote:The thing that gripes me the most about the "Move To" replacing EotB, is that if you're pet is engaged in combat the only way to get it to work is to put them on passive 1st, then use the skill. I don't think the motion was to retire Move To, but to give us back EotB because Move To isn't really cutting it as far as being a replacement ability is concerned. I would of course prefer to see EotB returned and the Move To command working properly, but this thread isn't about the latter wish.

Cute doesn't need an explanation.

Re: Do you want to be able to control your pet again? (EotB)
(Long time reader, first time poster. Hi!)
We used to use EotB as a way of pulling bosses in Zul'Gurub in pre-BC! That was lots of fun.
Seriously speaking, when I picked up cata after not playing for a good two years and logged onto my hunter I went "buh? where's EotB?" and flipped through the spellbook several times just to find no trace of it. That was really depressing. It was a fun (albeit somewhat useless gameplay mechanic-wise, I admit) skill for hunters and made the class a teensy bit different from warlocks too. It definitely had a roleplaying appeal for me personally so I would love seeing the skill make a comeback!
The 'move to' command is pretty terrible RP-wise.. the pet rarely goes on to the spot I want it to and even if it does it might face the wrong way! *insert silly and awkward moments here*
Sure it's very practical when you have to move your pet out of the way and all and I'm thankful for having it but we got lots of stuff in WOW just for roleplaying... why not EotB?

I, too, miss EotB. I didn't really use it often, but it was fun and sometimes even useful. Back in ancient times, it and Tranq Shot were about the only 2 reasons to bring hunters into MC, too.

You know what could be sort of neat as perhaps a 41 pt BM talent*, is if they restored EotB but with a special twist - whilst channeling it, it is not interruptible, hunter cannot be stunned / knocked back, and dmg inflicted to hunter is applied to the pet instead.
Give it enough of a CD to make it a panic button move (even like 2-3 minutes would probably work)...
*Or if you want to go a step further, change the 31 point talent to this plus the +4 bonus pet talent points, and make tame exotics a core passive, so that BM hunters get to tame exotics from lvl 10 on instead of waiting till 69 which is ridiculous. In my view that would kill 2 birds with one stone...

Yes, I think they should bring it back...if for any thing just do to how fun it was.
