Re: Still have your original toon???
I feel old.
I started playing a bit after WoW came out (January, Febuarary I think?) and I remember when you had to be 40 for slow mount. I remembered 60 was the level cap...I remember when Molten Core was a HUGE thing. Many nights we ordered pizza for dinner because both parents were raiding MC.
My first ever toon was a night elf hunter named Firewing. I chose Cenarion Circle (Frikking old server, too.) because that's where my parents were. My first ever pet was a gray cat with white spots. His name was Midnight and I wanted him to be striped instead.
I still have Firewing all through these years, and I don't think I'll ever delete her. There's just sentimental value. When I was still young and a nub and running around, never questing, doing BGs all the time, wanted pretty or awesome gear...Yeah. Those were the days.
I don't have my second character anymore (A druid named Lykra. It was a pain to level her.), but I do have my third, another hunter named Nalrania, and Fire gets her IC name from her.
Azu was my second "main", though.

Re: Still have your original toon???
I do, but it isn't really "Larka" anymore. Larka was night elf druid who heaed in Vanilla and is now a forgotten tauren druid who does DPS. I kind of regret faction changing her, as she's a whole new character now and goes by Esarosa. My second character was similarly abandoned but remains the same with regards to name and faction. After that my other characters are just lumped into alts... Too many to keep track of, lol.

Re: Still have your original toon???
Yup i still have her
First ever toon was my NE hunter SylviaDragon from about 2 and a half years ago. By now she is somewhat godly for a lvl 70 due to the massive amount of stuff I have collected on her xD
I have gone off and lvled other toons on both horde and ally but at the end of the day she is still my main =3 I guess the reason i like her so much is i named her after an assassin from an old starcraft fan fiction i made back when i was like 12. I pretty much created my own hero x) So even after i switched from SC to wow it was like the great huntress Sylvia D. Dragon had survived and lived on. kinda silly i know
. just good memories i guess =) and like Magli i haven't changed her hair style since like lvl 10 xD
long live my main!

I don't have my original character that I created. She was a human warrior that I got up to level 35 before a friend found out I created an account. She had me create a tauren hunter to be on the server she was playing on. I've had this hunter ever since, and that's been about 4 years ago.

My main Teigan is technically my original toon, though she has been thru a name change (no I'm not telling you what it used to be and no its NOT like the mustard), a realm change, faction change and a race change. She started as a dwarf on another realm, then was an orc on Nesingwary and now is a goblin.

Re: Still have your original toon???
(sorry if this comes out a bit longish, I sometimes ramble when looking back on my newbie days)
I still have mine, and she's still my main and most important character to me (*gently pats her alts*)
And the only change I've made to her is giving her a better name when I moved her to my main server (and maybe a face marking change, since I can't remember which one she had at first).
[Kas Nostalgia]
I started playing in early BC after meeting a close friend of mine on another forum site who helped me confirm that my comp could handle the game, and said he'd show me around (I had seen previews for it before this and thought it'd be fun, but wasn't sure my comp would run it...and I didn't know anyone who played at first and was nervous about not having any experience with MMOs). While waiting to save some money for it, I started poking around the site my friend showed me to so I could get an idea of what I wanted to play. I had no clue about any lore/story-lines behind any of the classes/races, so I decided to pick what I thought suited my personality best. Class? Druid...definitely. Race? Night Elf or Tauren (worked perfect for my class choice XD). I ended up leaning towards the Night Elves, which was good since my friend played Alliance.
When I finally got the game, I had a tough time creating her since the creation screen was really dark on my first comp and I ended up remaking her right away (a few times...) due to her looking unbelievably different in-game
Once I finally got it right, my friend came over on his warlock to show me around/get me started learning...his "help" with quest ended up causing my first death...by standing in fire...
(Why did he kill the ORANGE grell on top of the ORANGE fire?!?!)
I look back fondly at the crazy adventures I had when first learning about the game world. Like when the boat to SW used to go to Menethil, I tried to run to make the run since I always felt bad watching my friend with the map travel so far to hang out....but I never made it T.T I ended up in Arathi instead...I think it went something like:
Me: *cowering in shadowmeld behind a bush* "OMG! I"m so glad you're finally on! HELP!"
Friend (who just logged on): "Ok, where are you?" *gets invited to group* "How the hell did you get there?!"
Me: "I DON'T KNOW! JUST COME HELP ME! OMG, THERE'S TROLL
"
*troll moves on without noticing the night elf cowering on the side of the road who is eventually rescued by her friend...and doesn't leave the night elf area for a good while after that*
[/Kas-nostalgia]
I did eventually end up deleting my first horde character/hunter though, who I still miss but can't/won't restore since I know I'll never play her =( I had to delete her due to realm conflict (never played on her realm, and didn't plan to) and I didn't have money to transfer more than one character (Kas NEEDED it much more), especially since she was only about 16 at the time. When I tried remaking her as she was on one of my more active servers, it didn't quite feel right and I preferred my other hunters...so I ended up making my tauren shaman bit of a tribute to remember her by and it worked ^-^ I even came up with a bit of a background story explaining the class change and though I still miss her hunter incarnation, I adore her to bits as a shaman (and wish I could have more chars per server so I could move her and her friends to Nesingwary >.>). Maybe you could try something similar first if you're not sure about restoring your character?

Re: Still have your original toon???
my first, first, first toon was a Tauren hunter. I completely forget his name.
I switched from Final Fantasy 11 JUST so I could play a Tauren and a Hunter specficially, and realized I absolutely HATED everything about the Tauren race (especially how fricken' HUGE they were!).
But I did play that toon until the 1st expac came out, and I switched to playing almost uniquely B.Elf characters.
The very first B.Elf I created, Haimon, I still have. He was never my official "main" toon (I kept him leveled for crafting purposes - he's my guild's Scribe, so he was always at the minimum cap to do the maximum crafting).
In the end, he was my first toon to hit 85! I got a bunch of other toons to 80, while he stagnated at 71-72 (I can't quite recall). Then with the last expansion, I decided I'd level him to 75 just so he could cap Inscription... but loved playing him so much that I just zoomed right past 75 and got to 85 in no time.
I have a very old pair of level 40 N.Elf hunters (married couple, Anubias and Anubios) on the "other" side, but I've been considering race changing them to Worgen. I dislike playing Alliance, so it would actually be a hardship for me to try and level Alliance toons all over again from scratch.

I still have my original toon, a night elf rogue named Sangrea, though that was not her original name. I still have her, but she's been pretty much retired since Wrath came out. My draenei hunter is my main now

Re: Still have your original toon???
Hmm, sadly I no longer have either of my original characters. I'd long since left my original server, and had no real reason to keep them once BC came around and the 'real' Vephriel was created and became my main. I consider two of them to be my firsts. One was my legitimate original character, and the other was my first Horde character.
My very first character was a Night Elf hunter named Vephriel, waayy back in Vanilla. My boyfriend and I started playing together after some of his friends told us about the game when it had just come out. They played Alliance, so we didn't have much choice there as we obviously wanted to play with them.
We got our characters to their mid-30s. Haha, that sounds like such an insignificant level now, but I remember how long it took to reach there back in Vanilla (plus the fact that we were still learning as we went). By then our friends had stopped playing too often. Eventually they became too busy with work and such to continue being active, and that's when we decided to roll new characters. I'd wanted to play Horde originally, as did my boyfriend, so we excitedly went to roll our first Hordies. I created a male Tauren hunter named Kastrel. He reached level 40-something. I still fondly remember camping for Humar on him...my very first rare hunt. What a thrill.
Sometimes the nostalgia makes me regret deleting them, but I get by just fine without them. x) It's also been so many years now I doubt either of them could be restored.

Re: Still have your original toon???
My first toon was a NE hunter named Gormanghaste that I leveled up to 50 or so. When I was having some health problems, I created Another NE hunter, Mingyao, as an away toon. She ended up leveling past Gorman and became my main. When I started running out of space for new toons, I couldn't justify keeping two allie hunters and deleted Gorman. I later made a troll hunter named Gormanghaste just to have access to horde items on that server, and ended up leveling him up to 80.
Re: Still have your original toon???
I still have my first character. A few months after WoW came out I made a female orc shaman because I wanted a wolf mount and I could be a wolf too! She is still around level 48ish in the oddest gear ever. I had no clue how to gear her, was resto spec, on a PvP server, and playing on dial-up. I was slowly torturing myself back then and didn't even know it.
The PvP server frustrated me so I started fresh on a RP server and never logged on her again, but I did miss the character. I remade her during wrath, as I didn't want to spend the money of transferring her, and leveled her to 80.

Re: Still have your original toon???
I still have my original toon, who is currently a lvl 80 human prot pally named Brighteyez. I rarely, if ever, play her anymore though. Part of that is because she is on an entirely different realm than my current main realm, and part of it is because I've lost touch. I do miss her, and have just recently made a little BE Pally that I am leveling.
I thought about a realm transfer, or a faction change combination thereof, but there are two problems there:
1) Someone else on my realm already has the name, and it is a name I have been using for gaming for years now.
2) It wouldn't be the same paladin.

Still have him, a dwarf paladin named mogrimbor, but he is on a different realm than i currently play on. Plus, I recreated him on my realm, so I technically have 2 mogrimbor, the dwarf paladin(s). Got back on him a few weeks ago, and his mallet of zul'farrak (that was used to summon ghaz'rilla and was obtained on a stupid quest) had been turned into a wieldable weapon, so I equiped him with it, killed a wolf, got bored and went back to playing my hunter lol.

No & yes, in that I too, deleted mine, at the time thought "Eh won't play em'...", had the space so shouldn't have, but oh well, but I did get em' restored, so yes, I do have em' back. How many of you still have you FIRST WoW character??????
What are their stories????
Do you still have them or no?
My pets back then were a white bear named Iceberg from Everquests white bear of the same name, Snarler renamed to Fippy, from fippy darkpaw the evil gnoll from queynos hills also from Eevrquest, back when he had the +svs buff, & the 1.0dps spider from LBRS the whole few days it had the damage buff.
Got up to Burning Crusade era, but wasn't playing there anymore, she had all the dungeon armor; the beaststalker armor.
Yes I have em' now.

No my very very first char was an undead warlock, with points in everything. I remember buying like a Decapitating Sword Of The Bear just because it was huge and looked cool with my warlock.
First char I leveled to 60 I don't have either, an orc hunter named Mercenary on Bronzebeard. Good times.

I still have mine, Nelf hunter from a month after the Anvilmar realm was created. Got him to 60 a few weeks before beta's went out for BC and got into the BC beta with him, will always remember the first BC green I picked up on him and was like OMG, somehow in beta i skipped hellfire penn and went straight for zangarmarsh though. He's alive and well although currently sitting at 85 in favor of Nugget, which I've been playing a lot lately.
Re: Still have your original toon???
Depends on how you define ORIGINAL.
When I bought WoW, I just bought WoW, and not BC to go with it. My friend told me she rolled a Blood Elf...well, I couldnt FIND them, so I thought she meant NIGHT ELF, so I rolled THAT. We couldnt find each other, so I deleted that one after rather sheepishly figuring out that I couldnt make a Blood Elf till I bought BC. I rolled an Undead Warlock, and she has ALWAYS been my main up till Wrath the middle of Wrath.
The Horde side on our server just went apeshit dumb, so I switched her to Alliance, then leveled a shaman, and in Cata a hunter. I still HAVE my original, shes just shelved because I hate human, and playing warlock right now is depressing.
