I could see the spirit beasties having sort of an elemental essence of Northrend value to them. I kinda like what most people put down about Lok being Harkoa's mate who escaped the betrayal of the trolls in ZD. As for the others...

Skoll is the embodiment of the jagged and fierce elemental power of stormpeaks. His deep blue/black color shows true to the deep and frozen land and he surges with the power of the storm. A rogue spark cast away from the impact of a master's hammer...

Gondria is the feral spirit of the land in Zul'Drak, wandering the frozen wastes now that the trolls have betrayed their "gods". A forlorn spirit of dispair, she wanders aimlessly among the surviving beasts as a caretaker and protector of what little remains sane and whole in a broken land.

Arcturus is the savage and unrelenting feral spirit of Grizzly Hills, home to the fallen "bear god". Crisp and clear, true to the nights of Grizzly Hills, and so ethereal and light as to almost be carried along with the pure night's breeze. Beware the chill running down your spine, for the beast of the midnight watch is near...

I don't really feel like this is so much the "Post-Modern" era as much as its the "Pre-Zombie-Apocalpse" era. I consider myself more of a forward thinking guy and an era that just won't die is just as feasible as a coming era, where the dead come back.

Jeez i was just putting the ghost idea out there you didnt need to bite my head off about it. I mean think about it if they where part elemental essence wouldnt they have that in there pet name as spirt does not mean that. Sorry for thinking out of the box. i will shut up now.

Heh. Don't get too serious with their replies... I'm sure they mean well. Ghost, spirits, elementals... If its pretty or cool looking and I get to tame it, I'm happy. Now if they'd only lump dragons in that category too... oooh. Spirit dragons. That would be cool.
