Re: Raid Pets?
I'm still getting Higher DPS numbers with a Devilsaur SB AND Raptor on FD.com

Re: Raid Pets?
Prowl really shouldn't get all that annoying seeing as you can right-click the ability off so it doesn't activate, but that's not the point. I've mostly used Devilsaurs as a stable filler, but ever since I've gotten my spirit beasts and a glitched slime from the oracles quest, I've been tight on stable space. Currently I'm using a Pride Watcher to fill in the gap, and I've been getting attached to their model... again. ><Tarbano wrote:Personally I'd reccomend Raptors for ferocity pets if your a non BM hunter. They come in alot of different character models and have a decent family ability. I don't like cats because
1. They're over used
2. Prowl gets annoying when your pets casts it when you don't want it to
3. Their family ability got nerfed big time
If your a BM hunter, I'd reccomend either Devilsaurs, Core Hounds, or if you can get one, a Spirit Beast. All of them have good special abilites and are not to common. Now which one of those you pick is up to you. I tend to think Core Hounds are a bit better at PvP, but Devilsaurs are stronger in PvE or raids. Spirit beasts are good at both, but they are harder to get and prowl gets annoying. But these three also share one big disadvantage. 2/5 time you walk into a city, some newbies going to continually ask you where you got it. I once walked in Org and some lvl 10 continually followed me around, begging me to give him my pet....

Ghostcrawler said spirit beasts are meant to be like hunter achievement if they make it best dps then it makes it mandatory for raid and hardcore players, which they don't want.Tilo wrote:Aww lucky you with ghost wolf...seen a few on my server with that see through ghostly wolf of ghostly goodness.
You know I saw a few posts on the hunter forums mentioning a cunning pet to raid with, i.e.
http://www.wow-petopia.com/html/familie ... rpent.html
I got the least used, Murk Spitter; & I forget if it was really good or not, guess I'll have to try it out.
You mentioned PvE BM to go for Devilsaur or Spirit Beast; is the dps difference in these two about equal? I recall seeing that Devilsaurs' were better at single target, I guess both would be about the same 'shrug'.
I've got a Diseased Wolf, but have used:
Shy-Rotam, though seeing several folks with Gondria, considering getting a Frostsaber Pride Watcher, & naming em Cheshire hehe
Now if blizzard would remove the color change from the Drakuru Raptor I'd definitely have one of those.
But I do like to see SB dps on par with other top dps pets.

Re: Raid Pets?
I ended up finally getting a raptor which too my delight I found out hasnt nixed my dps really at all and too top it off - I love him and though I love my wolf I tire of the whole "YOU HAZ TO HAZ UN DO EET NOAW!" speech from non-hunters or even some hunters who think they own your toon. Nerd rage is finished - Now

Re: Raid Pets?
I too have a hard time with the wolves in this game. I had Timber for a long time...tamed, released, retamed, released. I finally settle on a Northrend worg. Even though I am constantly feeding it hoping just maybe it won't look so hungry
, I like it because Blizz finally (almost) got the teeth right on a beast, aside from the gigantic fangs! They are close enough to correct that I'll just go with it. At least it's not a mouth full of needles, like the cats, or a of blocks, like the other wolves.
Granted that has nothing to do with DPS...but right now, I got me a wolf for stuff, because I am a noob and am toeing the party line, basically.
