I can say for sure that the GMs do reply personally, and they do it amazingly. A week or so ago, I was greeted in Tol Barad with a genius who had named his pet Rape. I reported the pet, but hadn't the time to get the player's name before they logged. The next day I DID get a canned reply, asking for more info-- when I replied that I had given all I had, a live GM contacted me, and sitting with me there, asked me information until they could find, deep in their logs, the name of the player who was smacked nicely.gigandetsgirl wrote:Although responses get copy-pasted, does anyone know if the complaints are still thoroughly looked into?
I reported a player on my server for having a vulgar name, and also got what appeared to be a robotic response. I looked the guy up on the Armory last night and he still appears to be there. Similarly, my server has also been having a spam problem, and I reported it. I haven't seen much of a change yet, but I'm sure with so many players committing so many offenses, it can be hard for Blizzard to contain.
It felt great that the GM took the time and effort, as I found the name repulsive. My suggestion is to reply to what you got, and wait for a live report-- although I'm not sure what they CAN say to that; I'm guessing they know about all the spam, not sure what they can do aside from reacting to anything you report.
