My guesses for the starting pets:
Blood Elf: Dragon Hawk
Draenei: Moth
Dwarf: Bear
Forsaken: Spider
Gnome: no hunter available
Goblin: Crab
Human: Wolf (or Dog if available, as mastiffs have been spotted)
Night Elf: Cat
Orc: Boar
Tauren: Tallstrider
Troll: Raptor
Worgen: Wolf
I really hope that humans won't get one of the diseased wolves from their starting zone.
I'm kind of thinking that only forsaken hunters should have diseased pets and that each pet family should have one diseased skin.
I just can't get at peace with the idea of walking corpses with animal friends.
I SO sign this!Kalliope wrote:I want a real snake pet.
Edit: I really like the idea of having a mastiff dog as a pet for a human hunter that I did a little research, as I realised, I haven't seen one of them yet and wondered, where the idea came from, that those could be available.
I found the description of a starting quest for worgen, where you are supposed to take out a Level 10 Blood Elf Elite. Does that mean, Cataclysm brings back elite mobs? Anyway, that is not a group quest but you will be equipped with a dog whistle, that, when used, calls a pack of mastiffs which help you kill the elite blood elf.
And there seem to be only one picture with a mastiff: >>> Look right here! <<<
Here you see the mastiff:
That is all we got... A little weak, isn't it?
I searched some WoW databases and found three already existing mastiffs in the game, one using the the model of a black worg (black ravager mastiff), one using the model of a yellow hyena (gordok mastiff) and one using the model of a red demon hound (bloodhound mastiff).
I don't think that we should get used to the idea to be able to tame a dog.
