If you mean the cat I think you mean, it looked like a black spotted hunched cat to me that was reflecting the green around it. We might be talking about different cats, though.

Possibly the same cat. It was wandering through grass in a forest area. So you're probably right that it was just reflections. I need to go check out the trailer again

It looks like I was wrong - it does seem to be the jade cat. I mistook the carved gem lines for spots.

They remind me too much of Kung Fu Panda, and I don't particularly care for Jack Black. They just seem too.....I dunno. Cartoony? I've never really been fond of the idea of a bunch of goofy panda bears running around, but that's just my taste.

The shots of the new starter area -- the area they seem to be visiting most -- remind me a lot of the Lost Isles, but even prettier! Too bad, though, because Lost Isles isn't available for anyone to see besides low-level goblins, and I suspect this turtle-island will be in the same boat.

Took a higher-quality screencap of said tigers, and there's some differences to the current tiger models we have ingame...



Upon closer inspection, these tigers have the shorter, broader face of the hunched sabercats, but lack said hunch and possibly have shorter saberteeth (akin to the "regular" tigers such as the ones in STV).


...Ladies and gentlemen, I believe we have a new tiger model on our hands.

At least, that's what Jormy thinks.

Ooh, I think you're right. I was wondering about those two when they flashed across the screen, something seemed different, but I assumed it was due to the quick glance. You're definitely right that the faces are different. I can't quite tell if it's just the saber model face plastered on the regular body, or if it has an overall tweak. Very excited to see!

And to me they just looked like the "durotar" tiger / STV tiger. Given the plastering of the Ashtail / Black Fox skin on the foxes, I'd wonder if it is not the STV cat. Perhaps placeholders to not give away anything just yet? *shrug* All that was supposed to be playable was the starter area and not knowing how they work that for level range, no way of knowing if these are there or in mainland Pandaria.

Also curious to find out what a Panda Hunter would start at level 1 with for a pet. Wouldn't say cat since Night Elves start with a cat but maybe our fox friend if they are found nearby.

I'm just glad to know something and looking forward to more goodies in the coming months hopefully. Will definitely have to get my hunter in on the beta and look around.

Those cranes are gorgeous. And I personally cannot wait till this comes out. The scenery IS gorgeous, and I wanna meet Chen Stormstout (I thinks that's how you spell it)

Watching the Art panel on the livestream is just amazing. I'm completely in awe of the design team and all the work they do, it's really great to be able to see how they create the game and the effort and creativity that goes into it. Watching them talk about this new expansion and seeing the concept art and the emotion they've put into the new zones...it really makes you appreciate it, you can see how much love goes into their work.

Okay, now that tiger is GORGEOUS. Do want! If they re-vamp all the old-world kitties and make them look more like that.....wow. That'd be awesome. I do realize, however, that some people probably love the old-world kitties and their odd faces, so maybe instead of re-doing them, they could just add in more like they are possibly doing with the tigers.

All I know is, I must have that tiger. <3 (Tigers are my favorite animals and this model might finally do them justice!)

You know, now that I look at it, the tiger art almost reminds me a little of Sambas in the face. The short teeth, the rounded snout, etc. I wonder if they're using his frame to make other kitties? A Sambas-model kitty without the floof might look kind of nice, since he has such nice musculature. If the eyes aren't blue, maybe they won't look quite as derpy.
