New Rare for 4.3!

Ooooh what a tease!

I wish he were lower level. I'd tame him in a heart beat. I was never able to find The Evalcharr or Razza back when they were the white/blue model to have a rare version of that model. I guess it wouldn't have mattered as they got changed later anyway... but as for the blue/white old world model, there aren't any rares of it anymore. When it comes to my pets I always like to go for the rare version of it if I want it. Just makes it a little more special for me.

Decided to go hunt this down with my husband and best friend (holy and prot paladins). Here are some screenshots of our encounter!

Please excuse the crappy dps/lack of basic dots such as serpent sting- I was focused more on taking screenshots than anything else! Haha!

After we engaged, I decided to try dispelling his lightning buff with tranq shot. Success!


Naturally, he put it back up a few seconds later.


He puts an interesting little debuff on us, which I thought I would share a tooltip of.


Frenzy at 50% which cannot be dispelled by tranq shot.


Skinnable and loot- requires 530 skinning. Gave me 2 Savage Leather (wooo.)


Definitely a handsome fella! Not sure if he's the same skin as some of the other Chimaeras (The Razza maybe?) but regardless, we won't be able to tame him for awhile!

His skin is the old Vanilla Chimera model, most commonly seen in Winterspring, once the skin of a rare in Azshara, and also the old skin of The Razza (but he was changed to the White Outlands model)

I wish i knew there were chimeras on the isle that was sucked up by the ocean, i probably woulda tamed the King.. he would sit in the stables forever and ever and i would probably release him but upon seeing the islands gone and his apparent son the last one living it would of made for a great little special something to remember the old Azeroth by

Oh yea durr xD Theres also this model around the Kalu'ak village in Howling Fjord, i forget what its called but its at the southwest corner of the zone where all the ice is and theres a Viking boat that you ride down to the village

Slightly off topic, but where did you get a TUK UI with A. The HP% shown on the target windows and B. The Pet control bar in the bottom middle instead of the right side vertical? Those were two of my big complaints about TUK. I couldn't find one that didn't require some kind of editing of the code to get HP%'s to show and none of them had the pet control bar where I like/want it. I might have to give it a try again if I could get those two things in one.

I'm using Elvui - they are still making some changes to it for 4.3 (example -right now the microbar is missing, so you have to know the hotkeys to open up your character sheet, dungeon finder, etc)- but I love it! It takes a little bit to set up but it has been fantastic for me and I enjoy it!

Hmm, I've tried ElvUI in the past and it was no different than TUK when it came to customizing certain bits. Guess it's been changed a bit in a few months? Maybe I'll give it another try.

Found him and now have him on farm on my sever so my guild can start making their chops again.

Found him, Killed him with warrior and druid :p .. I was all newbie and didn't try and tranq shot him the first time so I got help then I figured I try it and yea..

Gave 18 Chops and 2 savage leather when skinned. Whats the point of the chops I have dirge's recipe but it only gives a 25 stam buff :\ Am I missing something?

It's a lowbie recipe. It may have been the only epic one within the game, but it was endgame vanilla. It's long past outdated now. The only point of making the chops now is the novelty, since the recipe can no longer be obtained.
