I like her. This makes panda women badasses who happen to be cute, rather than the other way around.

They sound battle/training-hardened rather than old to me, both the men and the women.
I don't think the problem is her lower voice, it's that it sounds old instead of young. If it sounded like she was around 25~35ish it would be good, but this voice makes her sound like she's a grandmother. It sounds near identical to the 80+ year old japanese woman that lives on my street! It's so... disturbing for me... :?
Eh. She sounded 35ish to me. She's carrying wisdom and weight in her words, but can still be bouncy-cute.

(Pandas = Kalliope new author avatar? MAYBE.)

I absolutely agree with Niabi, though. It would be amazingly lovely if we could choose what our character sounds like. My only regret at no longer being a night elf is that I like the elf's voice/tone better.

I guess it's in the ear of the beholder how old she sounds? Thats what it seems to me. I think she sounds young just battle hardend I guess. But I can see others hearing her as an older lady.

Lets just please keep it friendly guys. Not saying you guys are not being friendly I just think this could be a subject that could end up that way and I don't like haveing to ask for my threads to get locked. :3

I think my biggest problem with it... is just that it sounds... I dunno, just kind of lame. Like, I feel like they could have done better. I'm fine with low female toles, it's just.. I dunno. This voice is just so pitchy and it changes a lot over various emotes. Like, I love some of them, like some of the charges and flees, but others are just... very different and it kind of irks me. I mean, it's not a deal breaker, just an annoyance.
The misc voice emotes are all good, though.
I too do not think the voice matches the model, but that's really not a big problem. I see people all the time who don't match their voices, it's something you just get used to.

I dont like it. It doesnt fit them to me. Luckily I dont play with my sound on :D lol
Was hoping for something that was in between this voice and a girly voice, but I can live with it. Im sure it might grow on me eventually.

Oh, I am very pleased with this! I had expected a horrible, high-pitched girly squeak and am happy to find that the voice is maturer and wiser and sounds very pleasant to the ear, thanks to the low tones. Thank you Blizzard, maybe I can actually play a Pandaren now! :)

overall, i really like the voices. i just wish we'd get some more face choices to make them suit even better.

some of them though were excessive, i mean really, does she need five or so 'beg' lines?

Oh don't worry, I'm not fighting at all with Kalliope! I respect her way too much for that! I was just discussing my opinion with her, though I guess sometimes it doesn't convert well with just words on a forum. :(

Though I agree with some that it is a really good thing that they didn't use a high pitched voice. I absolutely love her lower tone instead of an ear screecher. I just find it strange that her voice doesn't fit the animations at all. The male voice was kinda off too for me, like they took the guy who did male draenei and told him "dude try to make an asian accent!" or something. Now that I think about it, it's as if Blizzard went for a badly dubbed martial art movie sort of thing on purpose.

I am rather neutral on the voice myself. I mean it could have been better, but it could have been worse. I can handle the voice (both on the males and females). I am sure I will grow to like it more and more as I hear it playing my character.

Its not that it is a badly done voice, its just that they went through so much trouble to make the female panda cutesy (I mean the dance and her cheer emotes...?!) then they give her this serious, almost monotone older voice? It just really does not fit. When I first heard it I thought it was a joke.

It won't keep me from race changing my shaman to a panda-but if they do keep this voice I'll be turning off the sounds entirely while I play her and going back to listening to music while I play. Its just too much of a disconnect otherwise and will throw me off while I play.

Pretty sure we get it, Kitchu. There's no need to be so insulting about others having dissenting opinions. :D

I have to ask... does she sound like Aunt Wu from Avatar: The Last Airbender to anyone else?

I like the voice, but honestly, she sounds like she's in her 60s-70s. Not the age they should be portraying, considering how young the pandaren appear.

This is pretty terrible, to be honest.
I don't see why they can't have a little thing like Guild Wars 2 (from what I saw in the character creation preview) and you can choose from 2-3 preset voices. This would clearly be the old one.

To have such overexpressive, hyperactive schoolgirl emotes, not to mention their dance, and such an old and weary-sounding voice...

You've had a few different posts in multiple threads that have contributed nothing more to the conversation than "omfg this sucks so bad Blizzard I may just quit."

If you don't like the way the expansion's shaping up, that's fine. And it's okay to mention it once, maybe twice. But you keep bringing it up and it's always in the same derogatory manner that isn't actually contributing to the conversation at hand. You don't like the voice, that's fine, others have mentioned it, but no one's mentioned it in quite the manner you present it and it comes off as a little harsh and rude.

While we do tend to have a "lurker" here, these are not the official forums and Blizzard doesn't come here to read our posts and take what we have to say to heart for the game. ;) But maybe it's just the lack of grammar throwing me off and making me read your posts wrong. If so, I apologize. :)

There's being a grammar Nazi, and then there's asking for enough basic grammar to understand what in the blazes you're saying.
