I really would love to see a xpac hit with all three specs dps output within 2% of each other.

Maybe it'll be a viable option now?Blink Strike damage bonus upon blinking tripled.

Frostheim's post here would like a word with you. We can always hope for tighter balance, but early Cataclysm marked the most balanced hunter trees in the history of WoW.Banard wrote:This is a good thing. Think of the past, beginning of WOTLK they killed BM as a raiding spec and that never came back. The beginning of Cata they killed Surv which only came back due to them adding tier set bonus to 13 that favour Surv.

So with Blink Strikes tripled damage, it might be worth taking for PvE as BM. It was critting for roughly 205k-30k at 88 for me, and did about
1-2% of my total damage, so that'd be a bump up to 3 to 6%! Not too shabby.

Frankly, I always like pointing out that I stayed BM all through Wrath and was actually in a raiding guild that accomplished some great things, and I did some pretty sweet damage. Ironically, I stayed BM all through Wrath, and used unusual gearsets and rotations to get the job done (Tanking gun for the attack speed procs for the pets, etc).Neilaren wrote:Frankly, I always like pointing out that I stayed BM all through Wrath and was actually in a raiding guild that accomplished some great things, and I did some pretty sweet damage. Sure, I got a lot of criticism, but those were just the people who don't actually raid with me.
I still don't think it will be a great raid talent, but it certainly is an awesome opener for soloing and questing.Kalliope wrote:So with the massive pity party going on, I completely missed this change:

Not neccesarily, give the cuts on the other talents. It seems like they are pushing all the dps towards the new talents.Kalliope wrote:I was hearing that Blink Strike was doing more damage than Kill Command even - that seems kind of broken. x_x
Fascinating change then. Guess all pets will be warpies then.Slickrock wrote:Not neccesarily, give the cuts on the other talents. I was using it on the elites before this change, worked well then, so can only be better.Kalliope wrote:Fascinating change then. Fixed that for you.Slickrock wrote:But Cata is where I went to half-time SV spec, because of the removal of volley, and BM not having ANY viable sustained AOE.
And don't forget adding Burrow and/or Froststorm Breath to that list. Burrow, in particular, has the capacity of adding a really impressive amount of AOE damage to your numbers.Ziarre wrote:Fixed that for you.Slickrock wrote:But Cata is where I went to half-time SV spec, because of the removal of volley, and BM not having ANY viable sustained AOE.
BM has, on live, the potential for very nice burst AoE. Explosive Trap + Bestial Wrath + Multishot until out of focus + Fervor + Multishot a few more times until Wrath wears off. The key word is burst--our best AoE damage relies on a couple of our big cooldowns and those don't last long.
