As an NPC, my quest (dailey) would be to save 10 animals from a nearby poaching village. Characters will have to bring back a total of 10 poacher scalps (they had it comming) in addition to freeing the 10 animals from their traps/cages. As a reward, characters will receive a satchel containing gold and random miscellaneous items. Among the misc. items, characters will have the chance (rare) of acquiring up to three random non-combat pets - baby versions of the type of animals you save from poaching.
Either that, or I'd be happy being a stable master.

i would be an emblem vendor in dal with a quest bring me 10 Frost Emblems and 50 Triumph Emblems and as a quest reward you get 10g and 5 Heroism Emblems.

A goblin hunter NPC
he's blind.
he's very... David Caradine...ish.
He will NEVER hit ANYTHING exactly dead on but believes wholeheartedly that he will.
Somehow something triggered by his initial action always hits his intended target.
"Watch as I split apple on fencepost with lightning fast arrow!"
*aims high and fires a quick shot into the sky*
*extremely pissed wyvern rider crashes nearby*
*Understandably pissed rider throws his javelin straight for Epic, who ducks quickly*
*javelin splits apple*
"Apple is split! Now I must too! I disappear!"
*uses smokebomb* WOOOSH!
*Smoke clears, but he's still visably there*
*tiptoes away, believing he is now invisible*
Being blind has its advantages. You always look good!

I don't really feel like this is so much the "Post-Modern" era as much as its the "Pre-Zombie-Apocalpse" era. I consider myself more of a forward thinking guy and an era that just won't die is just as feasible as a coming era, where the dead come back.
