I'm with Doctress on this one. Alliance hardly have any 'horde' mounts and Horde got hippogryphs loooooong before Dragonhawk mounts were obtainable.

I don't really care much for the Horde vs Alliance argument, but I hope that you will be able to buy both mounts (Bat and Faerie Dragon) separately, and not something like buying one mount and it being bat on horde and converting to faerie dragon when on alliance characters. :(

That was pretty much my point. It doesn't matter and to be honest I think it's a dumb argument. Each side should be able to get BOTH new mounts in my opinion. It'd be awesome to be able to have both.

Spectral Wolf and Steed require level 40 to ride last time I checked.

That's honestly kind of rude. Especially because horde can get cat mounts, some horses, a ram, and they can get hippogryphs(which are alliance taxi's primarily). Alliance can get raptors, a skeletal horse, and a kodo. They don't have wolves or goblin trike equivalents nor do they get wyverns like Horde having already gotten a few hippogrpyhs. So if you're counting the bat as horde that's pretty equal in the types of cross-faction mounts that both sides can obtain, but nothing says that these bats are horde, just because its a bat doesn't mean its centered toward the horde at all and I've learned that FROM the hippogryphs.

I cant wait to add a bat to my collection however and I will be thrilled if BOTH my faction toons can ride it! Here's hopeing the Faerie Dragon that we've heard nothing about it a store mount and both faction available as well, or belongs to a new easily farmable faction like the Direhorn mounts were.

Rude? O_o That was not the word I was expecting. Lol.

Alliance:
ZG Raptor
3 Egg raptors
Scorpion (Only mentioning this because of the Horde's lack of a weird Lion mount)
Kodo
Dragonhawk
Undead pony
Hawkstrider
(Now bat)

Horde:
2 ZG cats
Hippogryph
Ram
Argent Warhorse

This does not look very even to me! Please let me know if I missed any.

Left outs and reasons why:
TCG Mounts (Ghost Undead Pony & Spectral Tigers): While these are both clearly the base of the Undead and Night Elf mounts, I think it is best to leave them out because of their ghostlyness and being TCG. I don't thiiiiink they would fit in 'lore' for mounts very well, so that's why I dont really think they fit in the list. IDK. I just can't see Thrall bouncing around on a Ghost Kitten or Ghost pony. Maybe that's just me.

Shaopan Tigers: There are a few of them, yes. I see that. Add them if you wish, but I do not think they are close enough to the Night Elf mounts to count. While they use the same model and skeleton, they are clearly Pandaland mounts... As in they look exactly like the Tigers you see frolicing in Pandaland, not Night Elf kitties. Add them if you wish, I suppose!

Galleon: That is not a Kodo, silly people.

Turtles: Because Panda's ruined everything >:c Lol JK. No, no turtles because Pandas give turtles to both sides.

Siggy under construction!

It's just as dumb as the "you can't make that skin common as it'll ruin the uniqueness of the rare becuase people know where I got that pet from (when they wont know )" bull people like to use.

Exactly I hate this justification too and yes Bowno it sounded rude. I don't see why it matters as long as you can get it too. It's just like Cow said with pet skins it's the same thing, just because other people can get it doesn't make it any less special.

I don't care if other people can get it o.o I just don't think it makes any sense. Guess I'm a bit too into lore and what not. *shrug*

Sorry if I came off rude. I wont express any more opinions on this forum if it offends so easily.

If you're into lore, tell me what in lore says a draenei can't ride a worg acquired from a third party.

They could. This is true.
But would they?
Would a Draenei, who should hate the orcs with a burning passion for slaughtering many of their kind in Nagrand when the Orcs turned, really want to ride around on the steed of the Orcs? After all, That Worg was touched by the foul beings. Perhaps even trained by the Orcs.
Would a trained Worg allow the enemy to come near?
I like to think that they wouldn't instead of just kinda standing there with a derp face.

I hope that makes a little sense.

Well why can't Orks ride Elekks? They are both native to outland unlike Draenei who are aliens to that world.

Show me a draenei who "hates the orcs with a burning passion". No, just a faction flag isn't enough.
Draenei hunters can tame worgs, and none of those things you just made up either stop him from that, or are written down anywhere.

In the end, what mount you can or can't ride is purely a gameplay limitation. One that has been changed or lifted numerous times. By for example letting us ride a raptor that was under Mandokir minutes ago.

Well, I don't agree with the argument, but as to the "hating orcs with a burning passion" part..

Don't forget that orcs killed a HUGE part of the draenei on draenor when under the effects of Mannoroth's demon blood. They might be different now, but I'm sure draenei still aren't big fans of orcs right now.

This. Mounts are never applied to lore. Bone dragons? TAME bone dragons? Hahahahahah! No, lore is never important when it comes to mounts. It's just what's shiny and fun. :-)

This just goes double for store mounts. None of them make any sense. Windsteeds that we've never seen in Pandaria before? Celestial horses that just suddenly exist? Heart of the Aspects, a mount that doesn't even make sense? Where did these come from? Not lore.

I look forward to seeing this mount in the store, honestly. I want one and I'm glad my worgen will be able to ride them (hopefully).

IKR? That would make sense, however draenei are one of the races we have never seen have any sort of passions, burning or otherwise. They always talk about patience and mercy, and Light - it seems like they're supposed to be a "always lawful good race".

Eh, not fully. For one, the draenei anchorite (I think) that is a hologram in Telaar constantly acts nasty to broken, calling them filth and all that stuff.

At Bloodmyst, draenei also act rather mercilessly -- not lawfully good.

Oh, and we have a draenei in Outland that willingly allowed himself to be turned into an Eredar. So no, draenei aren't the goodie two-shoes everyone thinks they are.

I play both sides of the fence for this reason, I love all mounts so I usually have a lvled capped alliance and horde character.

I do agree that alliance have way more Horde model mounts and browno's list was fairly spot on. Even if some are rare they are fairly easy to farm. The only thing missing for ally are wolves really (trikes are abit meh since both sides get a chopper) but interms of colour choices the horde are winning this xpac so maybe more love is on the way :)

I somehow got the feeling the bat would be part of the troll incursion thingo and since both sides can talk to Vol'jin I thought maybe this was a neutral rep mount but I'm probably wrong if all signs point to store mount. Wonder where the faire dragon fits in then?

Surely we're above the "faction A have better <x> than faction B" debates on this forum? The factions are not perfectly symmetrical and cannot be. The debates are fruitless and can go on and on, so please give it a rest.

Taking offense at the moderately careless wording of others is equally tiresome. If it's not extreme, sometimes you just have to let it go for the sake of not muddying the discussion further.

Back to the bat. The bat is awesome :) I feel a bit bad when cool and unique things do make it to the store, though. Because (i) I know not everyone is in a position to afford them and there are no other avenues for obtaining something similar, and (ii) I worry that it makes them less likely to appear as recolours in the game for fear of "devaluing" the store mount. And there are a lot of other awesome colours for this bat. At the very least we better see it as a tameable beast :)

Ok ladies and gentlemen, I'm all for a little off topic here and there (Lore can be interpreted in many different/personal ways, don’t forget to respect that) but let’s make sure we don’t forget the OP topic as well :)

As much as I think such a beautiful mount would have been better implemented in a "Little more difficult to acquire ingame way", but then that normally ends up being a raid drop/meta or such. But being selfish, as I'm not really raiding atm, I'm glad such a smexy mount looks destined for the blizz shop (As then I can save for one :) )

It would have been nice if they somehow introduced it in another way. Like how we got the Bronze Drake in the culling of stratholme? Maybe a timed run in one of the upcoming horde themed scenarios? Or even in one of the new Heroic scenarios? Or even a rare spawn (we have not had any TLPD/Aeonaxx/Poseidus/Camel Statue type mounts this exp. well, apart from Alani.. but I would not really call her a "rare spawn" to find)

Anyway, I'm very glad it's accessible none the less, and for everyone, Horde and alliance.
