I won't shoot you, but I will tell you to relax. It was just a joke, it wasn't meant to pick at your religion at all. Saturo made a bad joke off of you asking where the priest love was, that was all.

As for healers, to each their own, I suppose. I've never just tried to rely on one heal for any of the healing classes, but that goes doubly or triply so for druids. You have a full, complete arsenal to use.

yeah they do but if your stuck with another healer who hasnt learn much apart from spamming its best to leave them to it and just throw a few blooms about
beats wasting mana like teh other nub who thinks spamming is fine
and we have all had a pug like that when one healer clearly has no idea what they are doing

and as for the 'joke' we are talking about wow so lets keep it that way

I started as a Tank..A DK Tank..back when Frost was the way to tank, at the very beginning. I did pretty darn good, but we had too many tanks in the guild I was in so I ended up playing alts more than tanking. And any time I was supposed to lead a raid that I Could tank it, no one showed up...jerks.

After that I leveled a Shaman. She turned healer at 80 and ended up turning into my main..and the only healing shaman after a friend of mine left. He convinced me to be healer actually..I miss him. Only healing shaman in the guild for about two-three months, if not more? Yeah, I got a lot of invites to raids. I liked it. And I got to heal someone that left guild not to long after. Ended up leaving to go with him a bit later.

My first DPS was my druid, Feral. Fell in love. Then went Boomkin...not as much love, but still very nice. Then the Hunter. Love..my...Hunter! Sooooo good.

To be honest though? If I could go back to being a Tank, I Definatly would! I never got bored with it, always learned something new. But people hate DK tanks at the moment, least in my battlegroup, I got kicked out a few times with no reason. Healing..eh, I got burned out pretty badly. It just wasn't fun for me anymore. I'll heal once in a while if a friend needs me, or if I'm asked very nicely by my guy..'friend' I suppose, but that's about it. So I'm DPS now because I refuse to level a pally or warrior just so I can tank again and be 'accepted.'

Plus, arrows to the face is just funny.

My main is DPS (Hunter) but my alt is a Resto Shaman and these days I really prefer healing to DPSing. I'm pretty good at both (so I'm told) and healing just seems a lot more rewarding, enjoyable and not as stressful due to it not being so competitive (though I do see healers obsessed with Recount chart position, which I think is pretty silly).

I have never had an affinity for tanking and I don't suspect I ever will.

Of course not!

You just rejuv spam.

Kidding. That's what the nub druids do (although in some situations, that IS what you do, it shouldn't be your solution to everything).

Also, healing meters don't mean anything. You can heal snipe pretty damned easily, especially in a 25m raid, so the only REAL judge is seeing if the people you're supposed to keep up stay alive. What you CAN see from them is if there's an idiot priest hiding in the back spamming PoH the entire time or something to that effect. (A recent catch was a shaman who had targetted himself for primary chain heal bounces, which lowered his effective healing, since he wasn't always the target who needed the biggest heals.)

Yea, healing isn't a competition. It isn't about who can heal the most. It's about whose targets stay alive for the longest amount of time. At the end of the day, if my tank or my group stayed alive, I've done my job right. If we've wiped because I wasn't healing well, I've done it wrong.

There is SOME argument about healing more effectively and how the meters show that, but I get heal sniped so badly on my druid in 25s that I just shrug it all off.

And yet, I can do a good amount of sniping myself as a disc priest. ;) (And it happens to be the thing that I *should* be doing to be effective too.) It goes around!

The only healing class that seems boring as hell to me atm is pallies. Seriously, three types of heals, plus beacon? Sacred Shield and judgements are dull. To each their own, but I refuse to touch pally healing until Cata, if then.

*Is quiet about the time she thought her paladin had been put on raidhealing duty*
(My paladin, lightofdoom, was supposed to be MT healer. We had a whammy named voidlight too. Raidleader says: "light, heal raid". I comply. The shammy too. Quickest wipe I've ever seen.)

*Laughs* Whoops. It's the raid leaders fault for not being more specific! Paladins are terrible, terrible raid healers.

Kalli, you are 100% correct. Paladin healers are the most boring healers period. Though judgements and sacred shield make it more interesting. Try to imagine a time where one didn't exist and the other wasn't useful, and when holy shock wasn't really usable as a heal. Welcome to vanilla and TBC! Where you flash until you holy.

I wouldve argued, and done something like insisting for the shammy to be on raidhealing duty, but that particular raidleader is the guy that lowers your dkp if you argue.

Yeah, paladin healing seems so faceroll. Get into raids, spam crap on the tanks, collect loot (since you can wear anything, pretty much - not spirit gear). The fights on which you'd be healing anyone other than the tanks seem few and far between.

Paladin raid healing IS faceroll. It's almost literally one button, holy light. It's insane, and inane, and stupid. But that's because aren't equipped to do anything else. That's why I love healing five mans, even if it is more difficult. It requires a lot more thought, though once you get any amount of MP5 that dies.

His runs are always successful, and he knows just about everything about the game. He was the best player in the guild, until he quit. Arguing against him was futile, because you KNEW that he was right. In the end, his wife decided that "it's the game or me!". The whole guild heard that discussion over our vent. It was quite awkward.

(Never heard from him the week after that, but he donated all he had to the GB and then deleted his characters.)

It isn't a matter of being right or wrong, it's punishing some one just because they argued with you. And in this case, it was his fault for not being more clear about who was raid healing. At least that's the way I see it.
