an orc at the alliance starting area seems to be on a Chimeara (maybe a new model already, im not sure) and at the very start it looks like it got a land animation

Shit, you're right, I saw two heads on that thing, it is the new Chimaera o____o It looked way, way, waaaaaaay too similar in terms of different skin textures (fur/scales/length of fur/etc.) to the current Azerothian ones and it had the same basic physiology, same flying animation, same placement and shape of appendages, same 'walk' animation (the slow-mo flying)

oh my god o.o Chimera! If this becomes a player mount.... just...just wow. xD I would be really excited about that.
It is strange that its an old word model though. Maybe its a placeholder? (probably not) maybe Garrosh brought some chimeras with him? maybe chimeras have not yet evolved into the outland chimera we know today? it defanately wasn't what I expected but its texture and animations are clearly above that of the chimeras we have now.
If the new chimera skin is just a more high tech old-world chimera I will be a bit disappointed but maybe this means we will get shiny new models for outland-skined chimeras too?

bottom line: lots of chimeras please!

I went through the clip frame by frame and it looks like the chimera is in fact standing ON THE GROUND. Its wings are folded like that of a proto drake to support itself and just as the chimera fades into existence you can see his claws touching the ground for a brief moment before the orc's legs get in the way. also watching the vid in high-def makes it very obvious that the mount has new higher quality textures.

Omg Sylvia, cause one of my absolute most common names is 'Chimera' all I can think about when you're saying 'Chimera' over and over is me

/finds it very amusing when she automatically thinks of herself when she sees the word. It's also 12am so kinda zzzzz. Don't mind meeee....

But yeah, I kinda would like to think it's pre-destruction Chimera's cause they existed before Draenor went boom so it would be really great to see pre-versions of a lot of creatures that did call Draenor their home before the destruction mutated them. And species that were completely wiped out by said destruction. It would be a really great way to introduce the new models without saying 'this is a model upgrade'

I hope that's what they do. this is honestly a great excuse to expand upon both outland and old world looks that I didn't think would get much attention otherwise.

Slightly larger picture of it on the ground. Unfortunately once it takes off, the image becomes blurrier from movement, but also the orc's speech bubble starts to hide it.



In Spiritbinder's shots of it in flight you'll notice those weird yellow spots, which are both on its throat and its tail.

It's all very exciting anyway! I hope we see wild beast versions soon!

I did. Well I read the forum post here anyway. That counts right? XD If I where to guess I'd say CE mount? Maybe.

I don't know, it says you can ride it at lvl 20. that could mean a store mount unless Blizz has updated the wording about account wide mounts when I wasn't paying attention.
