I got those gems for free, at a time when I was sitting with about 50G to spare, otherwise I would never use them. Besides, she's not supposed to be in BiS gear. She's barely above what's needed to fight LK.
(Which happened. I got pugged by a guild who had apparently tired of their hunter disconnecting. *Shrug* Raid wiped at 78%, which makes me wonder how they got to him at all...)

(And that tabard is my favourite.)

Yeah, wasn't a comment on "BiS" gear; was more "hey, you've got an easy upgrade readily available!" I'd craft for you if I could.

And I figured there was a story behind the gems! xD Which was why I asked....in a very poor manner. -_-

Yup. The damn aberrations blew up before they could even leave the citadel.

That's about normal for early LK attempts. So at least they seem to have been on par.

They had done about eight tries, when their hunter disconnected (most likely fake) and pugged me, so no. They were not really on par.

Well, at that point, they needed to be reevaluating what they were doing, but some groups don't get it at that point.

What is "BIS Gear" anyway ?

Best In Slot gear. Aka the best available gear for that particular equipment slot. There are lots of pieces that can work for a player, but some combinations are "ideal."

Yup, EJ has a long list. Most BiS comes from 25man HCs, BTW.
