There's still a feeding mechanic in game... even though it's basically worthless. I suspect they're just referring to that.

Just wanna say I went looking through Gnomeregan on alpha and didn't see anything tameable with Beast Lore (or just attempting to tame). It's possible the template level 100 gnome hunters they give you don't know how to tame mechanicals because they start with a wolf pet, but if you make a fresh lvl 1 gnome they start with the mech bunny (which has fun combat animations). Wowhead's database also doesn't show anything listed yet, so it may not be implemented: https://legion.wowhead.com/pet=154/mechanical Also worth noting it's listed as an exotic family, but that doesn't make sense since the gnome starts with it and could easily switch to Survival (does the pet stop working?).

Pretty much my sentiments exactly! I'm not into mechs as pets for Rhyela specifically (not yet, anyway), but I AM very excited to see something new added! However, if they make a robotic feline that looks serious rather than derpy, I will be on that faster than stink on poop!

From what I understand, "Mech" will be a new family of beasts. Like how "Shale Spider" is a family of beasts, even though they're elemental. "Mecha" is the term for giant robot vehicles, like Gundam. "Mech" is just short for mechanic, mechanical, or mechanized.

Look for small puddles of oil in Highmountain and follow the MoP Footprint rare guidelines with the flaring and all that. Unfortunately I was unable to tame due to a current bug.

Yeah, they need to do something about the whole 'must be lower level than you' thing if everything is going to scale. I'm sure they WILL eventually but it's certainly concerning.

... I wonder if they'll just fudge the current expac (since it's the only one with mob scaling) where you can... I dunno, paintball-mark a pet and temporarily reduce their level by 1-2...
