Re: Tome of Dinomancy: Extended Cut
I don't really think they will change/add another tome but I would DIE of happiness if they made skyscreamers tameable. I've had my eyes on them since day one. Beautiful beasts.. I love them..

Wait, why are stegodons there? Aren't they already in the scalehides family?

You come up with so many clever ideas it makes me sick.Xota wrote:My prediction (well over 50% wishful thinking) is that the middle content patch will include a prehistoric island or giant crater or something. It will have those feathered/scaled terror birds (as tall striders), trolls and lau (including whomever Voljin is trying to recruit), a jungle gnome tribe (with voodoo priests and head hunters), giant gorillas with a new model, and dinomancy: pterrorwings/skyscreamers.
I voted pterrorwings. I need them like I need air.

Re: Tome of Dinomancy: Extended Cut
So random ideas on Dinomancy:
1. Extend to tame other families besides just Direhorns "Allows you to tame Direhorns, Pterrorwings, and Dimetradons" all with unique family skills. (I feel this one is an obvious want among most here.)
2. Allows non-BM hunters to tame Devilsaurs, but they lose either Feast and/or Mortal Wounds.
3. Troll Hunters automatically have Dinomancy like Gnomes/Goblins have Nanobots or whatever for Mechs.
4. Gives already tameable Dinosaurs an extra cosmetic ability. Raptors screech and/or get orange text with Jurassic Park references ("Your raptor steals a shiny copper from your bags, clever girl!"), Devilsaurs roar (fearing all nearby critters), Scalehides do a non-damaging Thunderstomp (with lighting if Thunder Lizard), Basilisks (if they count) turn to stone and freeze momentarily, maybe keeping the stone visual until combat, Hydras (again, if they count) fight among their heads (pretty sure that's an animation for most hydras already?)
5. Oondasta, Horridon, Galleon, and Ji-kun become tameable (with challenges maybe?)

Re: Tome of Dinomancy: Extended Cut
Is it obvious I want Pterrorwings?
They're one of my most wanted and I've never understood why they weren't made tamable back when the isle of giants was introduced. ESPECIALLY when dire beast summons them. Yes, I know that dire beast sometimes summons other untamable beasts but it's very few and far between.
They're the perfect size, great model and animation. Really bummed we never got more colors for mounts as well, and unarmored. If we did in fact get a jungle zone with trolls, Pterrorwings and those weird raptor creatures I'd be ecstatic. Maybe it would be an opportunity to finally tame them and even get more mount colors.
Unlikely but who knows?

Re: Tome of Dinomancy: Extended Cut
I think just a new tome allowing pterodactyls and/or dimetrodons would be enough. As easy as farming the tome was, I don't think having to go back to isle of giants would be good design. And just farming a tome was kind of boring, maybe something a little more involved would be better. Giving trolls a head start or other advantage would be fitting.

Another idea: Hunter-only Account-wide Feat of Strength that rewards you with "Tome of Dinomancy Vol II" for taming "the following reptilian families: Raptor, Scalehide, Hydra, Crocolisk, Turtle, Direhorn, Devilsaur" or specific (non-rare) members of each maybe. "Tame Vicious Razorclaw, Skum, Gahz'rilla, Lockmaw, Tortos, Primal Direhorn, and Thok".
Re: Tome of Dinomancy: Extended Cut
I like that idea, maybe make it like a "pepe" achievement, where you have to do all that stuff with some special buff to make it more challenging, like you have to carry an pterodactyl egg the whole time, and if you take more than X% damage, you have to start over. The loa Gonk helps trolls get the egg, but everyone else has to prove themselves first.
