Giggler is my number one PIC . I got him when I first found him and never let him go and rarely use other pets, LoL.

That's how it was for my Hex (Snort the Heckler). Got him at lvl 17 and I still have him! I will never let my sweet hexy go, though I've had like 5 pets, I've been with him a total of 38 lvls! He was my boy from lvl 17-51...then I pulled him out of retirment at lvl 71. I switch between him, my Arctrus (Arcticus) and my Ian (named after my boyfriend. He's a Hellfire citadel war hound).

I need a siggy of my lil family. Lvl 80 will be completed with Skoll, but out of them all, Hex, my little Snort the Heckler, is my baby

My favorites are the red, orange and purple. Tiegan had a red for ages, named Maggie, but finally had to part with her (tamed with a friend, who I had a falling out with and poor Maggie brought up too many memories). Grys has an orange, the rare Murderous Blisterpaw, named Ahuna.
Giggler, though, is really a beauty! You don't see the skin often at all. In the right light, he looks like liquid silver. If that rare in Tanaris hadn't popped up again, I would have kept him, but I wanted my Ahuna back.

Finally got around to registering for this site. I currently own two different hyenas. I love my Blisterpaw Hyena, Hayabusa and my Snort the Heckler, Arionrhod. I love the blisterpaw because if you look closely, he is actually a unique skin. The model uses the HyenaSkin, while other, similar models such as the Kolkar Packhound use the HyenaSkinOarnge. The blisterpaw is slightly darker in color with darker markings. Unless you have two right next to each other, you probably cant tell the difference though. There is only a faint difference between the two but its enough for me.

Yeah, I remember when testing hyenas in duels with a friend, vs tallstriders, I kept taming random hyenas & tallstriders in the Barrens.

I kept getting the plain brown hyenas, and then got an orange one accidentally; I was startled at how good it looked. It really is bright.

The Murderous one isn't unique, but it's definitely unusual. I don't think I've seen anyone with one. But again I'm not a big fan of how low-res the textures are

Hyenas are more closely related to African wolf species then they are cats. This was proven genetically. The only reason hyenas were placed in the felidae genus was simply that most species of hyena, mainly the spotted hyena is missing a back set of molars that canines have. It's even well documented that they were originally thought to be a African wolf /dog hybrid that later down line became it's own species. But yes they were placed in the cat tribe simply because of missing teeth. Strangely no scientist has attempted to have the change made. I'm sure it would be a hassle.

But. Hyenas are awesome. Blizz did a really good job with the hyena models making them look and even move close to what RL hyenas do.

I have had my hyena from the start and refuse to let him go.

there genes are closely dog like but cat like too they were put in the same group as cats,mongooses(but more closely to them than cats) cos there more closer to them physically and biologically. Most of the mix ups with them being canies is the Aardwolf but thats a small insect eating hyena buts very dog like in look. There one of them animals that is a mixture of heaps of other carnivore types and thus hard to sort out and should just have there own subgroup me thinks. There basicly evolution at its best haveing all the best bits from all of them!

I tamed a Scarlet Hyena and wow I love him! Taming was not as easy as I thought...the tank kept gaining aggro off of him which stopped the taming. So finally I asked if they would all help me and the tank sat by and the Druid healer and Priest dps healed me while I tamed my pet.

I named him Gage and he is so awesome. Keeps great aggro, good armor and is just too darn cute.

Still not sure about swapping him for Giggler. The skins are still 50/50 but I know with Cata Giggler might be gone forever so... URGH.

I had a scarlet hyena for the longest time, just because I liked the way they carried themselves. His name was Fish (though god only knows why at this point) and he was my second favorite pet, right behind Kegan. He was such a cutie!

...once they redo the stables he's pet #1 to grab again, even with their new weird way of holding themselves.
