Re: Cataclysm patch 12479
I love how you completely ignore the parts where I agree with you. I SAID there are times you sit still to finish things off, and I SAID you stand still to fight other ranged attackers. The only part I disagreed with you on was melee.
Re: Cataclysm patch 12479
You guys are giving me a headache.
Let's drop it until we know more.

Re: Cataclysm patch 12479
Anti-pushback talents are ALWAYS useful in PvP. Even if you're not SUPPOSED to stand there and get beaten on while you're dpsing. That part should be OBVIOUS. However, in PvP, YOU GET HIT. IT HAPPENS.
I like how you twist things so you can make a seemingly valid point and be correct. It's quite tiring, as it adds nothing to the discussion.
So have fun with that.
Edit: Mmm, pizza.

Re: Cataclysm patch 12479
Where did I say anti-pushback WASN'T USEFUL IN PVP? Go back and reread. I stated quite clearly that you would be going TOE TO TOE with other ranged attackers, where pushback resistence would be useful. The ONLY thing we disagreed on was melee, where I said you don't stand still, and you said you do. Sometimes you have to, it's going to happen. I NEVER SAID OTHERWISE.

Re: Cataclysm patch 12479
I did NOT say that you DO stand still for melee. I said that there are TIMES that you MIGHT be getting beaten on by melee, whether you find it ideal or not.
Please take your own advice and reread.

STOP ARGUING OVER PUSHBACK.
Edit: SERIOUSLY INTIMIDATION. SERIOUSLY.
I RARELY use it anymore.

Edit edit: MM and SV get Aimed shot and Explosive shot.
And all we get is a ****ing stun.
Thanks Blizzard. Thanks.

But that's a fantastic leveling ability. Hunters just don't GET stuns, unless you grab a ravager or a bat.
Still, I know what you mean. It does nothing for raiding, usually. If it worked on bosses, that'd be a different story...

Re: Cataclysm patch 12479
Keep in mind that we get our equivilant baseline at level ten, so we still have kill command. It's just that everyone else has that too. And some of the other classes got much, much nicer things. Like mages all got a 20% boost to their primary attack type, and rogues got an additional 20 energy and damage while using daggers for assasination. So it doesn't really seem fair at the moment.

Well I mean yeah, but at 60+ you usually don't even really need it any more, I rarely use it unless I want my worm to get some extra threat on something. But atm MD covers that well enough as it is ._.
It's just. Gee thanks Blizzard.

Re: Cataclysm patch 12479
Well, currently, for us low level hunters on Beta Intimidation isn't even working...'Target not high enough level' it says, so am drawing aggro off of Vultros at the minute, which is a bit of a pain! Then again, it is beta so will hopefully get fixed.Ryai wrote:Kalliope wrote:D:Ryai wrote:Edit: SERIOUSLY INTIMIDATION. SERIOUSLY.

And, as for the raiding point of view, I'd love it do something on bosses...think like Deep Freeze but for pets, just do damage if immune to stuns!
Wishful thinking, eh?

Where does it show what spells you get at level 10?

Re: Cataclysm patch 12479
It now shows when you get your first talent point. Before you can use your talent point, you have to choose which of the three trees you want to specc in, and you'll get a special ability, plus 70% resistance to pushback abilites and 3% ranged hit.
BM - Intimidation
MM - Aimed Shot
Surv - Explosive Shot
And, you can toggle between the talents and the screen that shows you what you get for being said specc ^^

Re: Cataclysm patch 12479
Does it show those things just in game or on the talent calculator thing? I'm not in the beta, though maybe I am looking right at it and not seeing it (I do that a lot)

The article on WoW.com illustrates what you see before you pick a talent tree:

Re: Cataclysm patch 12479
Well when working, aye, leveling up and even when I switch to BM for solo/lowbie 80 dungeons/farming etc now I use intimidation *often* in order to keep aggro on my pet.
Otherwise I pull off way too easily most of the time and it ends up becoming a game of ping pong aggro
.
I have a bigger "gulp" issue at the fact that other classes are getting two awesome abilities at level 10 and then their stat buff as well - and we're having ONE and a stat buff (that most posting elsewhere hope is a placeholder - I know I'm hoping +hit is a placeholder - in 80 raid gear I have over 500 hit, I can't seem to get RID of that stuff! just from plain gear with no other hit bonuses! GAH!).
I mean DK get heartstrike at level 10! And we get..intimidate..? Aimed shot..? Whaaa??
But I' keep reminding myself this is only FIRST pass reveal of an entirely revamped system so lots of testing and hopefully LOTS of tweaking (I mean we have several 5 point talents and the devs said they were doing away with most if not all of those; so clearly we're not done here) to really improve on how this works.
Right now the trend is even that we're having to spend more than 31 points to get the "Useful" things, thereby really limiting not only what points we can put in other trees but it seems the trend is to LESS variety in how to spend those points instead of more (which is what I thought was part of the reason devs were doing it this way).
Personally I wish they'd allow us to distribute those other 10 points in the other trees before having to spend 31 points in our main tree. Most of the first and 2nd tier talents are more useful leveling up than they are in end game; so that by the time we're 31 points down those other 10 points are much less helpful than they woudl have been 5 or 10 points in (i.e. at level 20 or something). Esp. those MM talents that say "when killing somthing that gives exp." ok..well that's useless at 85...heh.

Re: Cataclysm patch 12479
People seem to be praising this at the fact that 'lolz now nubz won't specc wrongly lolol' well who the hell cares about nubs. If you see one specced wrongly, enlighten them, give them some tips/pointers or if they're retarded botting ebayers, kick them from group. No fault but your own for letting a DK wearing spell cloth items, into a raid and rolling on a fucking spell trinket when he's supposed to be tanking. My god.Koriani wrote:Right now the trend is even that we're having to spend more than 31 points to get the "Useful" things, thereby really limiting not only what points we can put in other trees but it seems the trend is to LESS variety in how to spend those points instead of more (which is what I thought was part of the reason devs were doing it this way).
I mean as they are now there's 3 BM trees.
DPS BM.
Solo BM.
Tank BM.
With changes; DPS BM. Poor mans PVP BM.
But you know we're also talking about the people who removed Imp Wing Clip.

It's essentially the same effect as counterattack, so Blizz probably felt it was covered.Ryai wrote:But you know we're also talking about the people who removed Imp Wing Clip.

Re: Cataclysm patch 12479
Unfortunately for us it's still to deep in SV to obtain- and honestly it only becomes active after parrying an attack. Meaning you have to pray they don't 2 shot you and just blargle.Kalliope wrote:It's essentially the same effect as counterattack, so Blizz probably felt it was covered.Ryai wrote:But you know we're also talking about the people who removed Imp Wing Clip.
