Soriid + Haarka - Potentially Changing Silithids

I'm kinda sorta thinking the same thing but... We still don't know how this will pan out. I wouldn't do anything until we're closer to launch and Blizz has decided what they're doing with all the pet families.

I was thinking the same. Even after all that time saking out Haarka, I'd actually rather have either the pink or yellow skin. I am going to ditch Haarka and tame, Zavas just to see if he changes skins yet since no one has confirmed him yet. I'm thinking of leveling another hunter to get all of them. Only need to make it to level 60 I guess. Only problem is I'm the WORST leveler! That's why I only have one toon. Grrrr. Oh wells.

If it helps at all, Lapress is still tameable and still a normal silithid in beta build 12694. I checked.

I'm starting to feel that way to. My alt ally hunter will keep her Haarka but Giordana really doesn't need Soriid right now with things still being wishy washy on whether or not this is going to stick around I'm thinking of releasing Soriid. These two weren't a cinch to get mind you but they weren't hard like Loque or one of those guys.

I just wish Blizz would give hints or potential dates as to when.

That's what I'm doing, though I want the blue brain-bug not the purple-red one.

I already have a full stable, and only just tamed Aotona last week (after so many months of searching) and would have to abandon her or my Loq for one of these bugs. I would be ok with it if they going to not be available once cata hits, but at this point, we don't even know what other pets we will be able to tame. As they have yet to do any pass over our pets it's way to early to know, and so I'll be hanging out till closer to the end before I camp either of these lovely bugs

Oh and Vephriel, thanks for collecting the relevant information from the other threads and organizing it in this one. Makes it much easier for everyone to share information about these. Oh and the sexy little before and after shots go down a treat too

The silithid wasps i think would fit the wasp family just as much as they would fit the silithid family.

For sure, if those wasp skins became tameable I'd fully expect them to get tosses in with Wasps. But we've got the silithid beetles, silithid tanks...all sorts of options that could be thrown in as alternative models. ^^

If I remember correctly, even though I never fought Buru, at one point during the fight his uppser shell explodes and reveal his brain, and you have to dps him down fast, or something like that. Kind of like an enrage timer of sorts.

ya that's true on buru, but it's so easy to kill.... back then though you had to take him from egg to egg so they'd explode lowering his health until the top blew off exposing the brain, he'd beserk & spawn adds, then everyone takes poison AoE damage of which you had to kill him fast or else you'd die.

*pets Maquechoux, her brand new Haarka* Can't believe this lil' guy was waiting for me the moment I hit 60 and respecced. He wasn't up at all the couple of times I checked for him before I was able to tame him....go figure.

AT LAST! Just moments ago after what felt like ages. I got my blue bug! Ugh he is so much harder to find then Sor, who seems to be up every time I take a peek over there. Plus there was another hunter running around the same area, heading into the underground tunnels, he had gone through the north tunnel, I the south... very much on edge when my alert sounded and found Haarka in the first chamber I came to... freaking lucky path I took @.x

Glad I got Haarka now, it would seem more likely to find Sor IF we get the extra stable slots before cata hits. Though as much as I'd like both of em, I like Blue better, and am glad I got em.

Please let this change stay!

I have all my fingers crossed that all the silithid models will end up tameable - the ant-things, the scarabs, the brain bugs and the wasps - and that these guys just showed up first because that's the way the content designers happened to get to the job.

That's probably not terribly likely, but I still have my fingers crossed.

Mind you, these brain bugs would probably need to scale down a bit when tamed ...

I'll sign for that - they haven't done anything with silithids since the AQ event back in the iron age of wow, so it's not like they need to keep them reserved for some other purpose (a la Garwal...).

Here's hoping.
