Quivers/Pouches to bags

Aww, that's really sweet...

Couple points though:
* 7K gold is not that much, relatively speaking.
* It's the PTR, not live server.
* knowing a character name on the PTR does not give any info about someone's account, such as battle.net email, password, or authenticator code.

So, no worries that posting a screenie with a few K gold is gonna hurt anybody.

OK here is some more info:

The Hunter class are the only ones who will get a quiver/ammo pouch converted to a bag.

Hunters get ONE converted quiver turned to a bag, no more than one.

No new quiver patterns will be added to the game (but it sounds like the existing ones are not planned on being removed).

That's kind of annoying that it's ONLY hunters and a one-time deal... but yet the quiver leatherworking items will still be there in your recipe books?? Weird, anyhow.

Are you sure about this? And may I inquire as to the source of this information? This doesn't match the observed behavior on the PTR two days ago, where all my quivers were turned into bags (see earlier posts in this thread).

If what you state is in fact the new state of affairs, I really should get rid of all quivers save for my ancient lamina before 4.0.1 goes live!

I was thinking the same. It also doesn't entirely make sense, since we've invested in getting our quivers to begin with. If they were free then yes, I can see how others might consider it "unfair," but as it is, those quivers had to be bought/farmed for.

Perhaps it simply becomes a unique-equip mechanic?

There will be no more ammo slot on the hunter’s character display. Any ammunition that a hunter has at the time of the change will become gray sellable items. Existing quivers will be converted into large bags -- though each hunter can only have one and non-hunters will not benefit from this change -- and we will not be making any additional quivers.

Actually, to me, that sounds more like "You'll only be allowed to equip one!" than "Only one quiver will be converted per hunter!".

Actually, to me, that sounds more like "You'll only be allowed to equip one!" than "Only one quiver will be converted per hunter!".

Well, based on what I read, I took it to mean "Unique" as in "You can only have one of these items/this type of item in your inventory." I took that to include items in the bank same as other "unique" items.

Therefore, if you have 2 quivers/ammo pouches in your inventory, only one will be able to be changed to a bag and left in your inventory, so... where does that leave other items? Which is what led me to phrase it as "only one."

guys just wondering...if you have the lamina equiped.;do you draw you're arrows from that quiver? i have it equiped atm. i have the nerubian but the lamina looks better...and i don't care going to AH more often for arrows but who does? i'm really happy i got the quiver

Lol yeah, it's beta so it's no problem. I have double that amount on Live (I would be at 20k but I spent 6k on that epic parrot pet lol). I have an authenticator also, so I'm not concerned about hackers. I appreciate the concern

And about the mutliple quiver thing. I'll try it out as soon as my hunter stops freezing the game upon log-in again. Beta bugs are annoying...

My hunter is working for the moment, and yes you can have multiple quivers/ammo pouches equipped. They retain their names, but they're just bags now, so no limitation.

I got a 28 slot ammo pouch the other day. I made it soul bound so when the expansion comes out I should be able to use it as a normal bag.

Do note that your [Average Item] is a lot bigger than your [Typical Munition], so you won't get as many slots when using it for other stuff.

Unless I missed it somewhere in this thread: for the conversion to take place, does the quiver need to be equipped?
or can it just be in your inventory?


I'd taken to carrying one quiver around with me, just because it allowed me to show a quiver when I used my bow, but it was never equipped.

Not sure if this had been noticed or brought up yet, but in the last build I found that the ammo bags had finally been changed over to actual bags. Of the ones I have:

Dragonscale Ammo Pouch- 18 slot
Nerubian Reinforced Quiver- 20 slot

and the old lvl 60 epic quiver:
Ancient Sinew Wrapped Lamina- 24 slot!

Was gonna try and get that on my Draenei Hunter(s) before Release...Researched. No frickin' way! lol I'm guildless on both hunters and I'm the highest level Alliance toon I know!

As a sidebar to this, I just checked on the PTR....

The lamina became a 24 slot bag.
The pouch (which was "equipped" in my bank) became an 18 slot bag that retains the description of the pouch.
The nerubian quiver (which was NOT equipped in my bank) became a frostweave 20 slot bag.
