1. Age? 13 - 17 18 - 25 26 - 34 35 - 44 45+ prefer not to answer
26-34 (29 actually)
2. Do you think you chose your class/race because of your own personality traits?
Hm no, not really. I've played all sorts of combinations of races and classes, but the only thing that can really put me off certain characters is if their animations look really silly to me. Ever seen a human sword and shield fighter? The shield is just hanging there at his side, covering nothing... it looks silly and annoys me so I delete him. I'm not particulary wild about Blood Elves, but my mage is one, solely because she looks awesome casting spells. I moved her to Undercity as soon as I could because the BE capital looks like freakin' candyland to me. Same reason my Troll shaman made Thunder Bluff his home, it just fits him, even though I personally hate the commune between TB and the Orgrimmar zeppelin station.
3. Why did you choose your faction? Did the perceived good vs evil (alliance vs horde) sway your decision in any way or did you not see it as good vs evil?
Not a factor at all, I like races on both sides, Dranei and Worgen being my favorites for Alliance and Trolls for Horde. I started out playing horde, then moved to Allie server to be with a bunch of rl friends and now some of us have taken Cata as a nice opportunity to go back to Horde and lvl some new characters from scratch (on a pve server, which is also a nice change of pace after years of getting gangganked daily) And honestly, players who say one faction is more evil than the other don't know what the hell they're talking about. Individuals can be evil, but societies never are.
4. Do you give your characters (or pets) personalities and/or background stories? (please give details)
Not for all of them, but some more or less developed themselves as I played them...
Kalasha, Dranei huntress: I always picture her as a rather young Dranei, born in a small settlement in Zangarmarsh. She became a hunter so she could provide her people with food and security and volunteerd to join on the mission to hijack the Exodar. Crashing on Azaroth she was amazed to find so many different sapient species, many of them locked in an endless cycle of hatred and war. Although she is hardly a pacifist she hates to see life wasted for no good reason. Standing by her people (and by extention the Alliance) unfortunatly makes her stand against the Horde. But she really doesn't understand why it has to be about 'sides' with things like Deathwing and Sargeras out there who would happily kill ALL of us and then dance and spit all over our graves.
Kalahan, Troll Shaman: Kalahan is a happy, easy-going Troll who tends to go for the 'path of least resistance'. He gets annoyed by people who are gloomy, rude or just plain mean. Helpful and friendly, he'll happily fly halfway accros the world to help a friend finish a particular difficult quest. He's also the most likely to just sit somewhere in a nice place and watch the sun go down while smoking something that smells vaguely of rock concerts. (OK technically I do the smoking, but I can channel it to him. Or at least I believe so at the time ^^)
Karai, Orc Death Knight: Karai was raised from the dead like so many others for one purpose, to die like cannon fodder in the battle of Light's Hope. No great destiny, no remarkable history, just another young Orc grunt that had the misfortune of getting killed in a battle with the Scourge and thrown on a meat wagon. As a death knight she has become a quiet, methodical and rather heartless individual. When she fights, she cuts left and right with her two weapons, showing no emotion and uttering no word. Fighting is business to her, it's never personal. (Probably the only reason I can sorta enjoy pvp with her). Her only real weakness is her love of food and booze, since eating and drinking seems to be one of the few pleasures of life DK's get to enjoy after their ressurection. As a result she has become quite skilled at cooking and fishing.
5. Are there things ingame you won't do because you feel your character wouldn't do? e.g. Quests, killing certain mobs or going to certain zones, grouping with other races or classes?
Hm no not really, at the end of the day (or night) when I need 1 more quest to gain the next level, I'll do that quest even if it involves setting bunnies on fire. But I must admit I like to do certain zones/quests because they fit my character so well. Kalasha simply had to return to Zangarmarsh and finsih every damn quest in there, because it felt like the old stomping grounds to her. Karai had to run through the plaguelands (both old and new) because she knows exactly what the Scourge is about and believes they should all be detroyed.
