I just wanted to say 'Desire' really stood out as an awesome replacement named for Lust.

Yeah, that one is quite boaring if I may say so... :)

Ooh, that's a great alternative Azunara. If I had still been doing this I would have gone with that for sure. :)

Oooh, nice suggestion. :D

Also, zedxrgal, don't forget my suggestions!

Kindness (which is also sometimes loyalty) can be wolves or dogs, as they're notably loyal and devoted animals.
Diligence could also be something like the beetles which are hard workers (they remind me of ants, they just keep building)
And don't forget Image, which I think is a great heavenly pet for...something. XP In Dante's version of Heaven (and some parts of Purgatory too) golden eagles were always used as representations for especially heavenly people.

MAJOR BUMP!!!

Alrighty. Since the next patch is out and undead hunters DO in fact exist now, I'm throwing my finalized team out there for feedback. I have Virtue rolled up as an undead now, and just need the motivation to start her once I wear off my troll druid kick :)

Here's my final thoughts after going over the list I made in my first post:

LUST:
Image
This one still sits with me the most as a lustful pet. I love the colors, even if it'll be a while 'til I get her. Note that because Lust is forbidden as a name, I'll either go with Desire or Carnality for the pet's actual name.

ENVY:
Image Image
This one I know for a fact is going to evolve. I'll start with the plain green skin and work my way up to the spiked one come Outland. I love the thought of Envy continually growing worse. :)

GREED/AVARICE:
Image
This was my only selection before, and it's still my only one now. I thought about adding the bone bird, but it really didn't seem to fit the 'greed' thing. It's dead, which would look great with an undead hunter, but eagles don't seem greedy to me. Crow it is!

These are the three Sins that I 100% knew hands down I wanted as these pets. The rest are...a bit tricky. Feedback would be GREAT, guys.

GLUTTONY:
ImageImageImageImage
Corehounds still seem like the best fit to me, but I really can't decide on these guys. I'm thinking of opting out on the seagull because I already plan to use a bird, but I like the thought of boars and crocolisks too...what do you guys think?

SLOTH:
ImageImageImage
The turtle seems to fit the best, but...it seems so cliche, too. I kinda like the idea of moths, but maybe I should pick a duller colored moth?

WRATH:
ImageImageImageImageImage
I can't choose between any of these! I love the ravager as Wrath, but I'm starting to worry about most of my pets being available at Outlands level only X_X These other looks for a spirit of anger are great, too.

PRIDE:
ImageImage
I still love the strutting tallstrider as Pride, but I think a parrot could fit too. Then again, if I already have a raven, maybe I don't want to fill my stable up with all birds?

Give me your feedback, guys! :)

EDIT: One image won't show up :( I just linked it instead...
EDIT EDIT: Fix'd. :D

Agreed on the corehound! Also agreed on the duller colored moth. Something more....listless. There are still lowbie ravagers on Azure/Bloodmyst; maybe one could stand as a temporary? I could see Pride as a cat too, hmm...

Hrm...perhaps this moth would work instead: Image

It is a relatively low level so I could get it (albeit with mass dying because it's in the newbie zone). It is also bland and listless looking, like Sloth.

Ravagers on Azuremyst...hrm, there is a nice reddish-orange one still, which goes with my red wrath color scheme: Image I suppose he could act as a placeholder if I wanted him to....*muse*

A kitty as pride...hrm, that could work....Especially some of the fancier skins. I could see an arrogant cat because they think they're the best, look the best, etc etc...

If I may, I'd like to make a few suggestions:

Sins
With Gluttony, I'd suggest an Azeroth worm only because in the Video game of Dante's Inferno, Cerberus is not a hound, but rather a ravaging-always eating-three-headed Worm. I absolutely LOVE this interpretation of both Dante's Inferno's Cerberus, and just cerberus in general.

With Anger, Why not the Blood Red Nether Ray? That seems incredibly angry and ferocious. I also like the red Fel-Hound.

For Pride, I would vote Either Mazzy or any of the Saber Cats. Particularly the Purple, as it's slightly a play on them being 'Pride-watchers', as well as their flashing, unique coloration and stance makes them seem overly proud/prideful. In fact, my Purple Saber's name is Proudfang.

And Laziness, I like the moths, however, I think a Warp-stalker could work, as Why walk around, when you can simply teleport? (granted, the actual pets can't anymore, but the mobs still can). I also think that a Rhino would work, mostly because all of the rhino models are very sleepy and lazy looking. And maybe a Crab, as back when I had Hermit Crabs, they never did anything except sit around...

Virtues
Humility I love the Gray boar. I think it's a perfect match.

Chastity I also think that the White Owl is a nice idea, however, May I suggest a White eagle instead? Simply to include the theme of the Heavenly Eagles within Divine Comedy.

Temperance *goes off into vast interwebz to find definition*... Ah! I'd say definitely a Spore Bat for this one... They have so much power and uniqueness to them, but they don't use it without being assaulted, but rather just simply float around. Uhk'lok would also work, as Gorillas also have this strong power and energy, but withhold it, and a quite friendly.

Charity Kirken, simply for his Buff, which is a very charitable gift to the rest of the group, should they find themselves in need of a Shammy.

Diligence I like the Silvery white Spider for this one, as it must take a large amount of diligence to form such intricate webs as spiders do.

Patience Any spirit beast would work in my opinion, Though I think more likely that one of the Higher level ones (Karoma) would work best, as it shows you to have patience to not only find him, but to level up high enough fast enough to tame him.

Kindness I'd have to say just about any Tenacity pet would work wonderfully here, as these are pets that gladly give their energy and being (Skills and Talents) into laying their lives down for you. I'd suggest a beetle, as it appears to not have been suggested for anything else yet, but just about any of them would work.

Intriguing....I probably won't use a worm because I enjoyed Dante's rendition in the original Inferno and I was always amused and puzzled by his use of mythological creatures as demons. But I am intrigued by the use of a worm instead of a dog shape for Cerberus in the game. (The always-eating part sounds about right though, if I recall correctly Cerberus constantly savaged the Gluttonous in his circle of hell and always consumed but was never sated).
With Anger, Why not the Blood Red Nether Ray? That seems incredibly angry and ferocious. I also like the red Fel-Hound.
I never even thought of a Nether ray, but I have always wanted to try one. If my slots allow for it I may have to try this (assuming I don't get overloaded with Outlands-only pets).

Yeah, I was definitely thinking one of the sabers if I went with a cat. Though I think I might end up going with Mazz after all. Every time I go and browse through the cat models I keep going back to Mazz...XD
And Laziness, I like the moths, however, I think a Warp-stalker could work, as Why walk around, when you can simply teleport? (granted, the actual pets can't anymore, but the mobs still can). Well warp-stalkers USED to warp...and I know tons of us want it back XD I'll have to go check out their idles and such, see if they act slothy when they're just standing there, but this could work too. Rhinos do have that slow, methodical plodding that does seem sloth-like, though I might avoid a rhino just cause they don't really appeal to me as a pet XD If they had more colors, or a useful ability, maybe...as it stands now, not so much.

Thanks for your input, is greatly appreciated :D

I managed to find a picture of the Game's version of Cerberus:

Image

I also found a video of the fight between Dante and the Beast, but it may be a bit graphic, so watch on your own will.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGvjueo_ ... re=related

In this battle you can see the representation of Cerberus the best. ;)

That is a TERRIFYING image, Gimlion. I think I'll skip the vid as I'm not a fan of graphic video games but that is a cool yet freakishly...well...freaky...Cerberus interpretation. XD

Anyway. I started leveling Virtue today and after many trials (read: leveling with a spider) I finally got her to level 10. Virtue has now gone out and subdued her first spirit of sin: Pride.

According to her sources, this spirit of arrogance could initially be found wandering in Mulgore as the brightest and flashiest of all the striders there; Pride seems to enjoy assuming forms that display just how much it considers itself better than others in its family.

Image

Image

Capturing the first spirit was successful! Virtue now has tamed Pride, and will be aided by this arrogant spirit in her travels--though perhaps not always in this form! Entities of sin tend to...shapeshift. :)

Interestingly PetEmote contributed to the tame and gave some intriguing proof that this was, in fact, the right spirit masquerading as a beast. His first emote was:

If I may, I have a couple of suggestions I haven't seen yet.

Humility: Boar. I can't even think of anything else.
Chastity: Wasp. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index ... 739AA1OJmE
Temperance: Crabs? I'm drawing a blank, but these seem to fit as well as anything else.
Charity: Dog. I can think of no more selfless animal, always giving time, love, and effort to thier masters for no more than food, shelter, and a few pets.
Patience: Bird of Prey. I can see one sitting or floating for long periods of time, waiting to find the perfect moment to strike.
Diligence: Any of the insects. Have ever seen an ant or beatle rest?
Kindness: Spirit Beast, because of the heal.

:) More updates!

Virtue has been dutifully serving the Banshee Queen, aiding her and the Forsaken's efforts in Silverpine.

However, while questing, she unexpectedly felt the presence of a second sinful spirit. Knowing it was a call or an omen, she immediately took leave to find this beastial spirit, explaining that having such a dangerous ally would be a benefit to the Forsaken, quite worth letting her leave to search for it.

Virtue's travels took her all the way to Kalimdor, and the powerful presence seemed to emanate from the Barrens. Virtue followed it all the way to a mysterious cave amongst one of the old oases of the Barrens. Getting inside was difficult, as it was full of dangerous creatures that did not like her, but she managed to fight her way at last to the deepest, darkest part of the caverns. There, in the dank, the dark, and the wet, she saw it: another spirit of sin, prowling around.

She immediately began to subdue it :)

Image

This Sin was wily and vicious, much more difficult to subdue than the first spirit Virtue claimed. However, she finally managed to bring the creature to her side as an ally.

Image

Now the powerful and clever Envy flies by her side, jealously guarding her mistress and slaying all who attempt to thwart her. :)

(Am I getting a little too into this?)

For Sloth, I think that you really ought to pick a bear (preferably not undead) thanks to their Bouns Ability, Rest. Having your pear lie down and take a nap in the middle of a dungeon would very much embody Sloth in my mind. The only problem I see is that Demo Roar just looks so... energetic.

For a glutton, the obvious choice would be a boar. However, there are strong arguments for a boar embodying a heavenly virtue instead. A couple tehr ideas for gluttony would be carrion birds and hyenas, who stoop so low as to feed on carcasses to satisfy their hunger.

Finally, I think a mastiff should probably be some sort of heavenly virtue. Not sure which one, though. It's just that their unswerving loyalty and stoic bravery that are coming to mind.

I love this idea! I think it's really interesting. In my opinion, I could see a bear as having some sort of heavenly virtue. Man, now I wanna name all my pets virtues/sins!

I totally forgot to post on this! Sinns is at level 10 or 11 I believe and has her first virtue pet. Patience the demon dog. Strangely enough it seems to fit this animal.
Granted this is very much subject to change as she levels but for now patience is the first virtue pet.

I wish to nominate pretty much any sort of spider for the Patience pet (well, maybe not the bones spiders or thorn spiders :P). They build a complex web, then sit patiently for days for something to fly into it. On top of that, said web will often get destroyed and need to be rebuilt. I know that would drive me nuts pretty quick. Hence, my characterizing spiders as possessing incredible patience.

Hrm...I originally started coming up with these ideas before the Bears had Rest, so I never even considered that. That's a good idea, I'll have to play with it.

As for boars being more heavenly than sinful...that part doesn't really matter XD Neither of us really decided upon "you can't have X pet because it fits Sins/Virtues more," so either one of us could have any kind of pet as long as the color choice and behavior suits.

I agree with you on carrion birds but probably won't go with it just because I already have the raven in my lineup, which is the same family as the carrion bird. As for the hyena.....we'll see what I end up going for with Wrath first XD I know plenty of things will eat carrion out on the savanna just for the sake of staying alive, so I wouldn't say it's a hyena thing exclusively...

Eh, maybe I'm overthinking it. :P
