There's a somewhat helpful topic about this on the new official forums that's on-going right now.

From what I've read of the topic so far, the major "hot spots" are:
Tanaris
Wetlands (a very common post)
Blasted Lands
Arathi Highlands
Thousand Needles
South Barrens
Winterspring
East/West PL

I would say to read some of it yourself though, to get a better grasp of times/locations related to your realm(s). ^^

Haha that's where my huntress is sitting right now. Been here for a few hours now, but my hopes are high that I'll get this by tomorrow at least. /crossfingers
Hopefully you won't have to wait too long.

Edit: There's actually a couple videos on youtube (search: Stood in the Fire) showing a common location in wetlands. I figure it's right around 26,35.
Based on the videos, it looks like he flies right on over you. :O

Does anyone know if you can survive by being underwater when he flies past? Or isn't Taluwen's bathtub as safe as she thinks it is?

Hmm there's a few posts that I've seen where the person missed it because they inside a building or in/under water.
I've also seen posts where being in water doesn't matter. You'll just boil in the water instead of burn to a crisp on dry land.

So I can't say for sure. lol

I've been camped at 31,30 in Wetlands for a nice chunk of hours. Saw him in Winterspring the other night but I was in damn Everlook and didn't realize at the time that I wouldn't get the achievement there. Oh well. Fixing up my guild website and browsing forums while tabbing to and fro occasionally. I read the thread in the achievement forums, and am unmounted and on a little hill overlooking a Gnoll camp. Thankfully, due to my mount, pet, and huntering obsessions I'm somewhat immune to the rigors of camping

Good luck to myself and everyone else camping that blasted molten drake of cuteness (except in human form, he's a creeper lol)

OMFG!

So, I said I was determined to park my butt in the Wetlands until Deathwing visited. Guildies came to join, and we decided to have a nekkid dance party of ritual dragon summoning.

WE ARE EPIC. WE TOTALLY SUMMONED HIM WITH OUR AWESOMENESS!

Note X target so we can be conveniently located from the air.

Guild chat spam! I didn't even fit it all into the chat window.

Poo, my screenshot wasn't as good as I thought it was. You can kinda see Deathwing coming to BURNiNATE us, but just barely.

Still no sign of him for me in Wetlands just yet... I'm trying to get my 32 Pound Catfish while I wait.

I know the second I log off to go to bed, he'll spawn... Maybe I should feign sleep?

I was questing in winterspring last night.

screen turned red (almost scared me to death XD)

I got sick of Wetlands after a combined total of 18-19 hrs over the past two days so I decided to try my luck with another 'hot spot'. Right outside of the ruins of Camp T. in South Barrens. I had been there for about 45mins when I went afk to get something to eat. I was busy in the kitchen stuffing my face full of Reeses Puffs cereal when he chose to show up. I came back to find my spirit chilling at the GY (also just outside of camp t.) and my shiny new achievement logged in gchat. I missed my chance at the screen shot but got the achievement. It was 7:50pm server time on Fizzcrank (US).
