See, when people do that to me in pugs and I'm not at at least ~40% mana I let them die and get a repair bill. As far as I'm concerned I'm doing them a favor by not rewarding stupidity. :D

Of course, if it's a guild group or a trialling-new-potential-raider it's an entirely different thing. Funniest thing would've been when we were trialling potential healer recruits and we had our tank pull triple groups and the dps doing the stupidest stuff they could think of (like spamming Distracting Shot on cooldown). We had one who managed to keep us alive all the way until HoR! Mind you, they were warned up front that we were going to make life hell for them!

Similarly, when trialling dps'ers, the healer is under instruction to not heal them unless it's part of the boss mechanic that they will take damage. I foresee this becoming an ever-more important challenge to put people through in Cata.

Yeah, if I had more faith in groups not falling apart after that, I would. Sigh @ leveling. I don't oom at 80, or I *would* let people die there.

That is an EXCELLENT training program. I might bring this up to the GM of my guild. :3

Don't blame yourself. I'm sure your doing all you can to keep people up most healers do. I'm not sure if its been said but I think what to blame is mainly how people now have gotten use to just facerolling thru heroics because at this point a lot of people are seriously over geared for them. So they forget that when there on their alts they need to rethink how they go about it, that and things just never seemed that hard even in heroics in wrath. I missed the days in BC when you actually had to know and watch what your doing in heroics. When I played my hunter actually felt like I had a lot to do with controlling how things went in a group with crowd control, timing traps right, and when needed throwing my pet at an add to by the healer sometime. In wrath its pretty much just been AoE, AoE, AoE... I'm not a raider (gave it up in BC) so heroics are about as rough as it gets for me. I'm really hoping things change in Cata, but I'm sure even if it does go back to being more skill oriented and less AoE, people will b***h enough and blizz will make it easy again.

Sorry got a bit off on a side road there. Healers usually take the brunt of the complaining when things go bad, and it stinks. I can't remember a time I've said anything to discourage a healer because there hard to come by. So if you like healing I wouldn't say give it up, but maybe stick to healing in group with people you know and not pugs.

Even as a healer, I cannot WAIT for the Cata dungeons. As a hardcore raider in BC, CC and awareness are 2nd nature. CC in HoR was something I picked up on right away; MD + Silencing Shot the mage, freeze the hunter. I even use my tallstrider in there to make it a little easier (<3 tallstrider/fo ability). I LOVE being utility. ...But I'm more excited I get to let the bads/stupids die >_>
