To all those who didn't get their ant...

Again: Not all Hotfixes apply immediately. Alot of them that change actual in-game interactable elements (like quest objectives, NPCs, etc) require a server restart.

And I can't grab a SS right now, but I got the quest names:

Horde: Silithissues
Alliance: Working the Bugs Out

Objective is the same: Use Bucket of Burning Pitch (quest item) to throw on the Silithid Mounds (they are the white things sticking up out of the ground around the Horde (Desolation Hold) and Alliance (Fort Triumph) fortresses in the middle of Southern Barrens), to call out 5 Silithid Swarmers per use.

Actually you can get more than 5. I did the quest0 unfortunately well before the patch on Lime and I'd kill for a swarmer on her- and I managed to dredge up almost a dozen on one use >_>


Anyways hoping this just means all ants eventually become tameable as it's stupid to lock away a unique pet skin such as the ant into a non repeatable quest that has to be unlocked by atleast a lv 30ish player to boot too..

My friends don't have any alts there that can do the quest, that's what I mean :p and I'm probably not the only one to have blazed thru southern barrens on a leveling spree that can't get help.

Hopefully this won't turn into Shy Rotam 2.0, Cata edition!

I do suspect they're going to make other ant models tameable at some point. They are classed as silithids (Beast Lore them and you can see their diets); just untameable ones. I suspect in the next big patch they're probably going to throw the switch and make thme tameable. Or at least some of them.

sigh, just th swarmers are tamable, none of the other models can be tamed, though as has been said, they will most likely make them tamable in the near future.

Just tamed 2 of the swarmers, one on each of my lvl 80 hunters on Draenor. Then I dumped the one on Jolyroger as he already had one.

Like I said before, even tho they may (here- did) make them normally tameable and get rid of the cool dps tank glitch, I'd still keep it. I fell in love with my ant pet, although bacon is now competing for the tanking slot in my actives.

Hmm... shame they never did this to the other no-longer tameable pets. At least it would be fair.

Hopefully won't see a lot of people with it for a while - but at the very least I'll just whip out Chrommagus instead!

When are all the most recent "hotfixes" going to be implemented? My flying pets still fly and The Secrets of Uldum still can't be completed. :[

I was wondering the same thing, as my ungoro fledgling colossus is still motionless...

This was in the same patch notes. I did AQ lastnight and was not given a Gryph to fly back to the portal when I died. I had used one last week in there. So those ants are probably already tamable.

That's the only kind that is current tamable, though the others (red/purple, teal, brown) probably will become tamable too at some point (probably sooner than later).

On a related note, this makes precedence for them to change/add pets to the tameable list at random/as they get them ready. Maybe we'll see some others that we've been wanting get thrown in.
