I used to love my sporebat pre-4.0 when it was one of the few remaining AOE dmg pet spells; nowadays... eh. I don't PVP, and instances are so easy you don't need any special tactics for them. Might be handy for raids, can't say as I haven't done one in a while?

So, my sporebat has remained in the stables for the time being.

But, from what I've heard cata 5 mans should be harder, presumably requiring some degree of strategerizing*, possibly(?) even bringing back a CC element, so you never know - sporebats might become popular again...**

EDIT: From the RP'ing side... I also loved Zangarmarsh. Pretty much any zone with giant mushrooms is okay with me (reminds me of Nausicaa / Valley of the Winds) - and speaking of which, I don't see a major problem with adding sporebats to any such zone, seeing as how they are fungus based life forms. Yeah I know technically they are an "Outland species", but then so was the giant firefly... until it wasn't. :P

*At least until all the 85s are several tiers into the new end gear, and it all reverts to EZ mode

**When I say "CC" I'm speaking very generically here, since obviously in this case we're talking about slowing enemies down not paralyzing them, but same general idea...

I'd love for more to be done with sporebats! I plan on getting one when my new unter is high enough.

I wouldn't mind seeing some new colours for them, but I'm afraid I can't really...uh...take them seriously anymore. What has been seen cannot be unseen.

LOL! Sporebats were ruined in a much more graphic way than Veph's. You tend to find some wow sites that are not so kid friendly....XD

Anzu is also ruined for me too....XD

Should I be worried that I wasn't phased at all by that, like it was perfectly normal? :?

I have a soft spot for sporebat, used it in raids prior the abilities changes. My Draenei hunter has the blue one while my orc uses the yellow one :).

Used to tamed the green ones from the dungeon when pet still had the 'elite' tag.

Don't worry, I knew. It would've been kinda disturbing if I actually hadn't realized this.

I wonder if part of the reason why sporebats get so little love is because we tend to get so sidetracked whenever that pet family gets brought up. I guess the sporebat is cursed to come in only three varieties :|

If it's any consolation, upon seeing them while Tailcoy was hauling my Undead Priest around Coilfang, we both declared we wanted a bluje one when our Hunters got high enough. They're just neat.

Wierdly brain hasn't defaulted to anything wierd on the tail, just a tail to me. Maybe it's graphic glitches that get me more.
My main's a Druid so I of course love critters. That counts for something right? Right?

Rest in Peace Yasindra/Ryai
