Magnakilro's Guide to Solo'ing ZG Mount Bosses!
Re: Magnakilro's Guide to Solo'ing ZG Mount Bosses!
Want to say Mag, this just gets easier each time (going for the tiger mount) but still no drop. TY for posting this, and wishing you the best of luck in getting your tiger. Now if there was a way to knock that 3 day wait off, we'd be in business!
Re: Magnakilro's Guide to Solo'ing ZG Mount Bosses!
What's the respawn timer for the trash mobs in ZG? I want to farm raptors for the pet, and was wondering how often I could do that in between the main lock reset period.

Re: Magnakilro's Guide to Solo'ing ZG Mount Bosses!
Could I get a pet tank spec you guys use for doing these bosses?

Excellent guide!
Read it when you first posted and it got me excited.
Last night I ran it for the first time (no mount drops though). I had some issues with both (mechanics) before getting it right. Once I got it to work, it was not an issue. My pet died a couple times, once due to too many mobs coming in to join in while clearing trash (was only my 2nd time inside ZG, first was about 1 1/2 years ago).
I used my gorilla while in my BM spec (Survival gem'd/enchanted gear -- respec'd my other test spec for Survival to improve my DPS for raids).
I believe I don't have to use the gimic for the raptor attempt (but the tiger attempt, my pet can't survive without it). My gorilla is spec'd for solo'ing mobs. Definitely want to use a BM spec for the extra 4 pet talent points.
My gorilla talent spec:
Charge (1/1)
Great Stamina (3/3)
Nature Armor (2/2)
Blood of the Rhino (2/2)
Pet Barding (2/2)
Culling the Herd (2/3)
Guard Dog (2/2)
Thunderstomp (1/1)
Grace of the Manits (2/2)
Roar of Sacrifice (1/1)
Wild Hunt (2/2)
I found I had to summon my squire to send off mail to help empty my bags (I also skin). Now I'm working on Zandalar Tribe rep too
Next run, I'm going to equip a 32-slot skinning bag, and put all non-essential items in my bank, lol.
p.s. It's not even necessary to keep the Raid group intact once inside (as long as you were the leader, I believe, though not tested):

Re: Magnakilro's Guide to Solo'ing ZG Mount Bosses!
Have not been going after the raptor boss but as far as the tiger this is what I do: I use my cat to clear the trash mobs. I take out the 2 stationary stand-alone tigers and the runner first. Then I do the mob to the right of the entrance. In clearing the mobs I focus on the axe thrower my cat is on and burn him down fast. Then I drop an explosive trap and a snake trap and throw a heal on the cat. This usually brings the mob of tigers to me but leaves the 2 remaining axe throwers on the cat. Ignore the tigers on you and stick to burning down the cat's target and heal after each one. Once all 3 axe throwers are down then simply do your AoE on the mob in front of you. Heal up and regain all your mana then repeat for the next 2 mobs. After that's done I switch to my crocoslime, boost him with both drums (kings and armor) then follow the directions for taking down the boss. As I have stated, it gets easier each time. At this point my slime rarely gets below 1/2 health and in killing the mobs my cat rarely dies. Hope this helps a bit.

Quick update...you can indeed kick your partner once you're inside to avoid them getting saved as well.
