Red Carrion Beetle @ lvl 39!

Just a warning to people: the beetle *can* be summoned at level 40. So if you're level 39, and wanting one of these, make sure you're beating up on a level 39 Crypt Horror! If you're level 40+, you should be fine no matter what pops out.

Also, make sure it's a Crypt *Horror* you're bugging. There are other crypt things in the tunnel, and I don't think any of them summon the beetle. I punched a few into low HP and waited, only to realize the problem.

Yeah, it's only the Horrors, that's why I specified. None of the others seem to summon anything. It's definitely worth mentioning, because it would suck to waste a ton of time out there on the wrong mobs. That would make for some very sad pandas indeed.

I think the one I was killing was lvl 40, and it summoned a 39. It's definitely a safer bet to wait until 40 and be guaranteed to get the beetle you're after, but if you're willing to spend a little bit of time killing/waiting on it, the 39 will show eventually. =D

Lol, I saw these while questing with my hubby on my human hunter and his dwarf shammy.

I ended up having him help me and tamed it ASAP.

Named it Jellybean.

They finally fixed those a couple of hotfixes back. Before then they spawned as something like level 56 and were very scary.
